Weiterlesen The last but by no means the least in a row of beachfront restaurant, Juanita serves great fish and seafood. You will not find it any fresher. The whole fish (snapper) was perfect, the seafood platter had a range of squid, octopus, prawns, and two half lobster tails, plus fish and vongole like shell fish it looked so appetizing, I forgot to take pictures! Highly recommended, also for its friendly service.

Then we moved on to filets de perche (excellent) and steak tartare (truly cut with the knife). We followed the recommendation of an open Gamaret which indeed was excellent. A most enjoyable evening.

Weiterlesen Ein weiterer thematischer kulinarischer Abend im Café Fontaine und erneut ein sensationelles Menü. Das Herbstmenü zur Feier des Saisonbeginns. Ein dezenter Gruß aus der Küche mit Linsen und geräuchertem Fasan setzte den Ton. Danach eine Variation von Foie Gras mit karamellisierten Trauben und für mich das Highlight: Jakobsmuscheln auf cremigem Kürbisrisotto. Wir erfrischten unseren Gaumen mit einem Sorbet aus Moût und gingen dann zum Hauptgang über: La Chasse, ein köstliches Wildgericht mit allen traditionellen Beilagen. Das Dessert war so gut, dass ich ganz vergessen habe, ein Foto zu machen – alles in allem ein wunderbarer Abend im malerischen Dorf Soral. Nun die Frage: Sind CHF 176 für all das und eine gute Flasche Wein Mittelklasse oder Feinschmeckerküche?

Weiterlesen Business lunch at the Dorian on a sunny October day, walking down the rue de la Corraterie and past the recently renovated Grand Theatre one gets in the mood for a special meal. Alas, while there was nothing the complain about -both the salade de chèvre and the steak tartare were good- the meal was good but far from special. Obviously lunchtime is a busy time with people's time at a premium, but the running around of the waiters creates a very hectic atmosphere. Too much stress, even the process of paying the bill raised my blood pressure (not the bill itself which was very reasonable).
