L'Equerre - Vimoutiers

It was a great overall experience! Food was good, we saw what others eat and ordered the same! I wanted salmon, but they were out!

Lunchtime or late afternoon is wonderful place to people watch here and basically let the world pass you by, good food with a price to match, gets very very busy on market days as expected, friendly place right in the heart of the square.

A friendly welcome awaited us and the waitress did her very best to help us decipher the French menu. The food was really good value for money although I found the drinks to add heavily to the bill. The starters are eat-as-much-as-you-like so we really...battled to get through the three delicious courses AND still have a small cup of coffee to end off with. I highly recommend this restaurant and we will make sure to come again should we be in the area. Well done to the chef and friendly staff.

This is one of the best 'simple ' French meals I have ever had. To start with two of us had Pastis as 'aperitifs . The menu 'Formule €12 ' had the buffet entree (you can visit more than once! , we all chose the Coq au vin which...was cockerel and not chicken (ask about the origins of the meal! half a bottle of red wine, finally we all had dessert (creme caramel x2 and Isle Flottant x1 followed by coffee. All of this for under €50. Great atmosphere, fine service and a real feeling of true French fun. Go there, join in and have fun! We did!

Excellent place in Vimoutiers main square to soak up the typical French atmosphere. The lunch menu has lots of choices and the plat de jour is always tasty and good value.
