Mackenzie Pub & Restaurant - Ajax

This restaurant is fantastic! The food was delicious and served piping hot and fresh. Our server was excellent, and the prices were outstanding. I can't wait to go back again!

I occasionally enjoy a nice serving of Fish and Chips, and this one was quite satisfying. The meal included two pieces of fish, tasty fries, coleslaw, and tartar sauce. It was the Friday special at Mackenzie Pub in Ajax for just $12.95. I met up with some old high school friends for this occasion, so having a drink together seemed fitting. I chose to sip on a shot of Appleton Rum with Coke. The service for our group was excellent, which is not always the case at other places I've visited. Our orders were correct, and the staff efficiently cleared away our used plates and glassware. Overall, the service was great, the food was delicious, and the prices were very reasonable. What more could we ask for?

They have a lovely outdoor patio area and this was the reason we went there. We ordered 2 corona beers and the server just dropped 2 cans of beer on the table…no glasses. I asked for glasses and lime and she came back with one and we had to ask for a second one. I never received the water that I requested twice. We had nachos and calamari. The nachos were good but the calamari was a little soggy and we had to ask for the sauce that comes with it. No one followed up to see if our meal was ok. Not impressed with the service.

We are frequent visitors to Ajax from British Columbia because my sister lives in Ajax. That said, my wife and I are quite familiar with the bar/restaurant scene and we recently followed Jody across the street to MacKenzies. Jody being a fixture on the bar scene in Ajax. She is a thoroughly professional woman who is incredible! Kind, caring, compassionate who knows pretty much every bar fly in the 'hood '. MacKenzie 's is far superior to the other pubs in the area with it 's people and food. So if you want a good meal with good cheer and friendly staff, this is the spot for you!
