Weiterlesen There is really not much in Barranca, but if you are passing by at Panamericana and have interest and time to stop for a good lunch, I would suggest Restaurant Tato at Barranca beach. Their specialty seems to be Tacu Tacu, a Peruvian dish of beans and rice with some filling; it's delicious, well prepared and the portion size is huge. The ceviches are also good, original, and well done in the way you do a good cheviche. The fried corvina lenguado steaks were excellent. The chicharrones more or less dry and hard, something you could find anywhere so that was not so special. The service excellent, the kitchen delivers quickly even for a busy traveller; the place feels comfortable secure, lots of free parking outside at the oceanfront. A good experience. Tato shows again that good and original Peruvian food can be at their best in those restaurants which care for their kitchen and where the chef and owners wish to do a good job; something you do not necessarily find in all overpriced Lima top restaurants with great everything else than the mediocre food.

We had a somewhat overweight blond waitress who was so rude to us that I think she needs career change to something that is not connected with work with the public. It was very frustrated that people in the group (who arrived at different times) put their food orders at different times. She said, "Oh great! I LOVE it if people cannot give their orders at the same time!” She was visibly very irritated. When I ordered another round of drinks an hour later, I added “if that is ok with you” and then she said “Do you find that funny?”. Luckily she finished her shift and we were served by a really nice and friendly waitress. I'm sorry to give this place a bad review because it's really nice and has good food to drink, but I had terrible service.

Es war zunächst gemütlich, bis der Barkeeper zu uns kam und uns bat, den Tisch zu verlassen, weil eine größere Gruppe von Leuten gekommen war und er dort Platz machen wollte. Die größere Gruppe… die Leute geben mehr Geld aus. Ich bin viel gereist und habe noch nie so schlechten Kundenservice erlebt!!! Man kann nicht mit Karte bezahlen, wenn man mehr als 30 Euro ausgibt… einfach lächerlich!

Everything is fresh and well-presented, and the restaurant has a spacious and light interior...as well as a small garden at the front. Located off a main road with flats nearby it isn’t part of the Vienna tourist trail, but it is a great place to eat and could be a starting point for a trip to the Schonbrunn Palace – after eating at Achillion (named after the Empress Elizabeth’s favourite place in Crete take the tram which stops a few metres away – in the direction of Ober St Veit and it will take you to the palace gates.
