Weiterlesen The food at Tomlin is always excellent. This review is about their exceptional service. Our family planned an event and would be ordering food from Tomlin’s sister restaurant Subdivision (also excellent). Food can only be ordered the day of but staff assured us the week before they would be open on this particular Saturday as they normally would be. Unfortunately just before opening on the day of our event, Subdivision announced on social media they would be closed all weekend. We understood they weren’t likely to close a restaurant by choice on a Saturday, but this left us with a big problem since we were ordering most of the food for the party from Subdivision. We contacted Tomlin hoping we could work something out with them even though they do not offer takeout. The manager we spoke with, Donato, was able to offer us some of their amazing pork belly appetizer to help fill the void. He was also kind enough to send us a gift card. So we will we continue to visit Tomlin and Subdivision, not only because of the consistently amazing food, but because of their great customer service.

We were so looking forward to a tasty brunch at this restaurant as our last meal in Canada before flying home after a wonderful holiday. The decor was great and our table by the fire was cosy. Interesting menu with lots of choices. After ordering we waited and waited for our coffee. Then our order took ages to come. My brunch was cold eggs Benedict with salmon. I mentioned this to the young server who promptly told me “ she was not responsible “ for the food!!!!!!!!!!! My husband ate his brunch while I waited for a replacement. The floor manager was very polite and apologetic and we did get a reduction in the bill. However the young server was not amused when we did not tip her. Perhaps training is needed with the servers???? We left aghast at her deplorable attitude.

Curry chicken wrap with potatoes fried with dancer Dust. The sundancer sandwich is warm and delicious it had a fried egg on it. the fried potatoes with dancer dust were pretty delicious. The curry chicken sandwich wrap was missing a little something. I don't know. It had a little bit too many vegetables and not enough chicken salad. The potato pasta salad was just plain. I went to use the restroom and the floors were so dirty and sticky. They had a fan on the wall not running but completely covered with dust. The ceiling fans in the restaurant were filthy covered with dust. There was two little bitty bugs crawling on my table. I don't know what they were but it wasn't a pleasant experience. The whole place needs a deep deep deep cleaning. The food was good but you know how clean is the food if the building itself is not kept up. I mean hire somebody once a month to come in and do a deep cleaning for goodness sake. It had 50 years of dust and dirt. Otherwise, it had a good chance of being a really good place. The atmosphere is really cool and hip with a good vibe. So if you want to try this place just close your eyes. Don't look at anything and just use your taste buds and you'll be just fine. Owners just please please clean your place. Put $200 a month into hiring somebody to clean it from top to bottom. Just trying to give some constructive criticism.
