Weiterlesen A colleague and I enjoyed a lovely lunch at the Palm Beach Surf Life Saving Club.<br/ <br/ The Salmon was delightful and rated a 4, while the Barramundi was a bit dry and rated a 3. To be fair, the Barramundi was supposed to be served with a Thai prawn curry, with chips and salad, but I was trying to be healthy.

Weiterlesen Owned by the Red Cross and staffed by warm and caring individuals, including students undertaking courses at the Red Cross College, Commix Espresso has deep Brisbane ties that trace back over 90 years.<br/ <br/ An amazing staff, good food and coffee at a reasonable price are hallmarks of Commix Espresso.<br/ <br/ On this day it was an Iced Coffee with Ice Cream. A bit sweet I'm guessing there was syrup involved but delicious. Great value and supporting a wonderful cause a true win win!

Weiterlesen Nice coffee shop and good food.<br/ <br/ I've been to Andavanth on several occasions, though usually for tea or coffee. Today I enjoyed a wonderful Grilled Chicken and Bacon Burger. It was delicious and the chips were really nice. My colleague enjoyed the Crispy Skinned Salmon.  A friend who is a regular highly recommends the Vegetarian Halloumi Stack.

The first couple times I was intoxicated by the combination of wonderful food, good drinks, great music and nostalgia for the underground bar scene in New York this place just felt like home and I rated them a 5.<br/ <br/ Some of the best burgers and the second best fries I've eaten in Brisbane were served up at Greaser, but occasionally I'd experience a sub par meal. Sub par when you are expecting a 5, doesn't mean bad, but after a few of these experiences I edited my review and downgraded Greaser from a 5 to a 4.5.<br/ <br/ I've been to Greaser twice in the past fortnight and have come to accept the reality that they no longer serve Brisbane's best burger. When they are on, they are definitely one of the best, but their consistency just isn't there. Could this have anything to do with the rise of UberEATS and other delivery services? Higher volumes and less quality control? The portions have also gotten smaller.<br/ <br/ At present, Greaser serves up a very good burger and tasty fries. My wife still loves the double smoked dog with cheese floss and the many varieties of beer and cider on tap and on offer. Live music and a great vibe help to keep their rating high, but the overall rating has been reassessed at a 4.<br/ <br/ On my most recent visit I caught up with some fellow reviewers (MB, Mandy Bernadette and Rebecca) and got beaten soundly in a burger eating competition. I dispatched the mortals easily, but the first and second place finishers beat me by more than a minute and were quite something to watch. I've been to Greaser a few times now and I love it.<br/ The cheeseburgers are the best in Brisbane and my wife swears by the hot dog.<br/ Fresh pressed granny smith apples and whiskey make for an interesting and refreshing treat.<br/ We've introduced quite a few of our friends to Greaser and it even gets the approval from vegetarians for the Portobello mushroom burger.<br/ <br/ <br/

Weiterlesen I spied Le Bon Choix just before Ronnielui2003 and I had breakfast at the nearby Cafe 63 and determined that I wouldn’t be leaving without some treats for the Meatballs Family.<br/ <br/ I ordered two Almond Croissants and a Baguette, while Ronnie went with the beautiful Bambaleo to share with his wife.<br/ <br/ The Baguette and Almond Croissants were both above average and rated 3.5-4.0 out of 5. <br/ <br/ The Bambaleo combines mango mousse, passion fruit and banana jelly. Ronnie’s praise for this dessert can be read on his review, but it is worth noting that he rated it 4.5 out of 5.

I stopped in just before 9pm on Friday evening and enquired whether they were still open because there wasn 't a single soul in the restaurant. They confirmed that they are open until 10pm, so I ventured in.<br/ <br/ I went with a large with red sauce as a base. I requested the Buffalo Mozzarella, but they 'd run out, so I went with the normal shredded Mozzarella. The staff building my pizza put only a tiny bit of cheese on the pizza, so rather than call him out I simply requested extra mozzarella. He scraped the bottom of the stainless steel insert and added another pinch of mozzarella. 'Is that good? ' he questions, to which I reply, 'No '. He advised me that he would have to get more cheese out back great, bring back some Buffalo Mozzarella while you 're at it. When he returns he makes a great show of adding pinches of cheese, but in total the pizza was still very light on the cheese.<br/ <br/ I added Oregano, Spicy Salami (the closest thing to Pepperoni they had) and Bacon. I asked for more bacon three times and still didn 't get as much as I would have liked.<br/ <br/ The pizza was good, but not great. It needed more sauce and I would have liked to see sauce and toppings closer to the edge the crust was quite significant and a bit overdone. I ate half the pizza and took the rest home. I had this pegged as a 3, but then decided to munch on a slice of cold pizza while writing this review (cold pizza the next morning is a great test in my book) and it was great. I knocked off the half pizza in a few minutes and decided next time I won 't even try it until it is cold. This rated 3 hot, but 3.5 cold.<br/ <br/ For $5, I added a drink and a Raspberry Sorbet. <br/ <br/ A pizza, drink and sorbet for $20 is pretty good value. I 'll be back.

Weiterlesen I'm a big Guzman y Gomez fan in general, but was a bit disappointed by the slow cooked beef burrito I got today.  First, I was thrown off by the fact that they were charging extra for the slow cooked beef they used to charge extra for the steak, but now they do for the beef as well.  Couple that with the fact that there wasn't a great deal of beef in the burrito and I was a bit disappointed.  I usually rate GYG burritos a 4, but this was a 3 3.5.<br/ <br/ I was excited to try the new fries $3 small/$5 reg), which are a bit unique in the fact that they are skin on.  The fries were good, but the best part was that they were serving organic Heinz ketchup.<br/ <br/ Upon further reflection, it saddens me a bit that GYG have continued to mainstream their offerings.  There is nothing Mexican about fries.  They have done away with the traditional names Beef/Chicken Guerrero and Chipotle Pork are now called slow cooked beef, grilled chicken and pulled pork) and now they are serving fries and nacho fries.  I guess I just wish they would stick to what they are good at.
