29.01.2024 - 15:21My wife and daughter have been to Chocolateria San Churro many times over the years and rave about the Chocolate and Hot Chocolate. They rate it higher than Max Brenner.<br/ <br/ I was walking past today and the thought of fresh churros with dulce de leche and the promise of air conditioning was too good to pass up.<br/ <br/ I ordered Churros for one (3 churros) with Spanish Caramel (I confirmed that this was in fact dulce de leche) for $8.95. Hot, crispy churros with just the right amount of cinnamon and sugar, balanced well with the Spanish Caramel. This rated a 3.5 4.<br/ <br/ I grabbed some chocolates for Valentines Day (more of a backup should anything go wrong getting to Mayfield Chocolates) and a treat for my colleagues.<br/ <br/ Would definitely return and recommend Chocolateria San Churro without hesitation. That said, Brisbane's best chocolates can be found at the aforementioned Mayfield Chocolates (5 out of 5).

29.01.2024 - 09:06Grill'd is a convenient place to grab a burger and a beer in Bulimba before/after a movie at the cinema if you can find a place to sit. The food and service at this location is quite comparable to any other Grill'd location, but it does appear to be a busy place...easy to feel rushed to vacate your table here.

29.01.2024 - 05:12Popped into Cafe 63 for a quick bite to eat last week and couldn't pass up the $4 Bacon and Egg Wrap, which includes a bottle of complimentary Spring Water.<br/ <br/ Pretty basic fried eggs, lots of bacon and the sauce of your choice in a tortilla wrap. But at $4 you can't go wrong.<br/ <br/ I enjoyed it so much that I ordered a second one for lunch...so did my colleague!<br/ <br/ <br/ <br/ Feb 2017<br/ Rated 3.5<br/ <br/ It is probably a bad idea to go to a cafe when you are craving dumplings, but sometimes convenience wins out.<br/ <br/ My dining experience at Cafe 63 could most aptly be compared to a roller coaster ride it had its ups and downs. <br/ <br/ Up: I love the open concept. Despite being open to the elements they are pumping some serious air conditioning and the 13 fans keep everything circulating beautifully. <br/ <br/ Down: My table was covered in bread crumbs and it appeared they had cleared the previous dishes without even attempting to wipe it down. Considered getting up and leaving before I ordered, but then...<br/ <br/ Up: The waitress was there in a wink with a complimentary bottle of spring water a nice touch. I brushed the crumbs aside and decided to give it a go. I ordered the KK (breakfast sandwich) and a Diet Coke. The Diet Coke was delivered promptly with a chilled glass filed with ice more bonus points.<br/ <br/ Down: The kitchen was a bit slow and it took over twenty minutes to get my breakfast sandwich. Not the quick bite I was expecting, but not so long that it was a big issue. Continuing on the down, my KK breakfast sandwich looked haphazardly slapped together, the bacon was overcooked, the egg was a bit mangled and a small chunk of my roll was missing.<br/ <br/ Up: The KK tasted good (3.5) and at $6 represents good value for money. They also provide quality Beerenberg condiments on every table. The overall customer service was great.<br/ <br/ A little attention to detail clean table and some TLC when cooking and plating and Cafe 63 could become a regular haunt for breakfast/lunch.

29.01.2024 - 04:16I 've had Fratelli Famous Pizzeria on my radar for the past couple months. I stopped in just before 9pm on Friday evening and enquired whether they were still open because there wasn 't a single soul in the restaurant. They confirmed that they are open until 10pm, so I ventured in.<br/ <br/ I went with a large with red sauce as a base. I requested the Buffalo Mozzarella, but they 'd run out, so I went with the normal shredded Mozzarella. The staff building my pizza put only a tiny bit of cheese on the pizza, so rather than call him out I simply requested extra mozzarella. He scraped the bottom of the stainless steel insert and added another pinch of mozzarella. 'Is that good? ' he questions, to which I reply, 'No '. He advised me that he would have to get more cheese out back great, bring back some Buffalo Mozzarella while you 're at it. When he returns he makes a great show of adding pinches of cheese, but in total the pizza was still very light on the cheese.<br/ <br/ I added Oregano, Spicy Salami (the closest thing to Pepperoni they had) and Bacon. I asked for more bacon three times and still didn 't get as much as I would have liked.<br/ <br/ The pizza was good, but not great. It needed more sauce and I would have liked to see sauce and toppings closer to the edge the crust was quite significant and a bit overdone. I ate half the pizza and took the rest home. I had this pegged as a 3, but then decided to munch on a slice of cold pizza while writing this review (cold pizza the next morning is a great test in my book) and it was great. I knocked off the half pizza in a few minutes and decided next time I won 't even try it until it is cold. This rated 3 hot, but 3.5 cold.<br/ <br/ For $5, I added a drink and a Raspberry Sorbet. <br/ <br/ A pizza, drink and sorbet for $20 is pretty good value. I 'll be back.
