By far the best restaurant of its type in all of south Austin.And this happened. They changed the way they are preparing the food. And not for the better. I was shock to discover that they are using jalapeños inside of their general Tao dish. Not exactly the right taste if you know what I mean..There wasn’t any hot or sour in the soup, and the egg drop was just completely gross and bland, missing all the flavor that used to have. it’s almost as if they’ve taken the inexpensiveroute to prepare the foodYet, the food cost more.We were completely 100% team china hill. Now we call it China going downhill.We for one will not be going back to it and I’m pretty sure that others are going to follow suit. You cannot just change your recipes and expect to have the people OK with that. Such a shame because it was a really good restaurant.(Reply)I called up there and your employees told me you changed the recipe on a lot of your dishes. Under new management..Look this place has been the number 1 Asian cuisine restaurant in south Austin for as long as I can remember. Excellent service and taste that was un matched.Trust me I know, we happen to eat out a lot more than we should but this makes us somewhat experienced in this category.You can not go changing the recipe and think that people are gonna be ok with that. Jalapeños do not belong in general Taos chicken.Please change it back and I will change my review and we will come back home..

Weiterlesen If you're debating trying the tasting menu at Juniper I cannot recommend it enough!! I hate peas with a passion, but they made a scallop dish with a green pea sauce at the bottom and I literally dreamt of this sauce that night. Everything is phenomenal but we had to go back for the scallops again in just a month because I couldn't stop craving it. Absolutely outstanding food every time, never had a bad dish here.

In my personal opinion it's hard to get veg dishes taste real good and bouldin does a good job in that front. 1. Spicy pesto plate This is a must try for the pesto sauce the dish will speak for it 2. Ren taco with tofu surprising the tofu in the dish wasn't plain and boring it was flavorful. The tortillas as well comes in wheat, corn and flour. Size of the taco is significant. 3. Veg Royale it's a decent veg burger, the patty was made of tempeh I believe. Special mention to Olivia she took care of us really well. Service is really good. I liked her integrity when she explicitly mentioned about gratuity being added to the bill and no need to add extra tip if you don't want to. Overall a wonderful experience and will definitely visit this place again.

I grew up in Austin I've been to almost every bar on 6th street and have never been treated this way. Went to jackalope on NYE and quickly ordered 2 drinks, they charged $32 which is fine its NYE but when I asked for a recipt and was surprised to see a call charge I asked what the extra fee was for and the Bartender Trevor C. that was serving us said he would just give a refund if we wanted and I agreed. Within a few seconds the Bartender Trevor and a 2nd Bartender rushed around the bar and started shoving us out, clearly shocked we paused and the Bartender Trevor hit one of our drinks onto the ground throwing it all over our group soaking me and started shoving us out when the 2nd Bartender threw my friend -who has back troubles- into a headlock and very aggressively drug him out when we were already very clearly leaving (all this for asking about the extra fee and accepting the refund that was offered?! . Even more sad we spoke to the door guy and told him the whole situation and he wasn't even shocked it seems like he's seen this many time before! Worst experience on 6th street by far!!
