We had been in the country for 8 days and were looking for a change of pace from the traditional German food (schnitzel, sausages, etc. . Im Herzen Afrikas absolutely lived up to the hype! We started with the hummus which was smooth and spicy. The home brewed beer was delicious. We chose the mixed platter for 3 people and really enjoyed all the choices that were picked for us! Beef, spicy beef, spicy chicken, creamed spinach, potatoes carrots among other things! All delicious and eating family style was a great way to experience this cuisine. The service was fast and friendly. The interior atmosphere looked very trendy but we ate outside to enjoy the good weather. Can't say enough about this place!

I ordered the clam pasta for me and the porky steak for her. for our appetizer, as we have waited, I ordered prench pries with sour cream taste and wild mushroom soup. the best thing I had in all honesty was the suppe. the pasta had still the muddles on the mushes and the flesh glued to the dishes like crazy. was not sure if this was intentional, but it made eating the pasta a little disturbing. the grilled pork steak was just a little overhauled. nothing too serious, because that was still wet. but both main dishes were too salty!
