Die Pizzeria Bassano ist eine kleine, familiengeführte Pizzeria, die mit sehr leckeren, frisch zubereiteten Vorspeisen und großartigen Pizzen punktet. Das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam, freundlich und zuvorkommend. Ein Besuch in der Pizzeria ist unbedingt empfehlenswert. Mein Tipp: Probieren Sie unbedingt die mit Käse überbackene Zwiebelsuppe und die Pizza Quattro Formaggi! Einfach spitze!

Exotic woodwork and equally exotic smells wafting from the kitchen complete the anticipation of a delicious Indian lunch. This was my first visit to Lyon, and despite its reputation as...the culinary capital of France, my meeting schedule only allowed me to shoehorn in this one dining experience. Not knowing the city at all I just wandered towards the river from the train station, hoping that on this sunny noonday I might find a riverside restaurant. There are none on that part of the river, but I came across Le Shalimar on the street facing the river. All the usual choices were to be found on the menu and there was a short by thoughtful wine list to go with it. I had some Pokara to start and the Lamb Biryani to follow, and a half bottle of Crozes Hermitage to accompany, and some Jasmine tea at the end. Both dishes were carefully prepared and nicely presented. The other clientele, mostly Indian, gave testimony to Le Shalimar’s reputation and I’m very glad I stumbled across it. Lyon obviously deserves another visit and an exploration of its food reputation, but I could easily be tempted to make another visit to Le Shalimar.
