Great place for seafood. Was here on a Sunday afternoon. Ordered the tandoori Surmai, king prawns tawa fry and rawas salt pepper. All were outstanding in taste and freshness. The beer was super chilled which was welcoming. Dessert was furniture, kesar kulfi and matka phirni. The staff is very nice. Welcoming and had a sense of humour when we were joking with them. The manager was also very friendly.
I would certainly go here than any other touristy sea food joint in fort.
It has a real Bombay-Mumbai feel. All classic wooden furniture with very clean and pleasant atmosphere.

Came in for a meal after a late game, and left very satisfied. It was a bit of a wait for food but there was pretty much only 2-3 workers serving a full and busy restaurant so a big kudos to the crew. For all the nit-picky reviewers complaining about long waits, maybe you should put yourself in their shoes having to serve a whole restaurant completely understaffed.

Standout service and excellent food and drinks, in a sleek modern ambiance that reminds me of the Mandarin Oriental hotel. Our server was warm but not over the top, always there when we needed her. When we asked for food recommendations, she was able to provide them based on the drinks we had ordered. <br/ For drinks, I had the Silk Road, which was gin, passion fruit, and egg white. So refreshing and delicious! For food, we had the:<br/ 1. Balmain Bug Lettuce Cups: 5/5. Must-try. An explosion of flavours from the first bite. The crisp lettuce, the fleshy avocado, the crunchy tempura Balmain bug, the salty caviar, and a creamy sauce to top it off. A great start to your meal, even though there’s only one lettuce cup per order.<br/ 2. Snapper sashimi: 4/5. Delicately cut, it’s light and refreshing. Drizzled in sesame oil to render its base flavour. However, the taste of the fish is a little lost.<br/ 3. Atlantic Salmon handroll: 4.5/5. Looks small but actually quite filling. A combination of flavours that all complimented the grilled salmon. <br/ <br/ We dropped by on a Saturday evening and luckily there was still space. On the pricier side but definitely recommend if you are in the area!

Great ambience and food with awesome presentation and taste perfect place for a low key (but relatively expensive) date on the weekday since it’s so close to the CBD. The server was really friendly but the service was a little too slow for our liking (which may just be because we came here on a Tuesday night and they didn’t want to seem like they were rushing us). We had two mains to share and an entree each between the two of us:
1. Tempura corn: 3.5/5. The corn, black salt, and smoked corn purée marry well with the tempura. Interesting because there are so many flavours in a bite. However, it can get a little hard to eat towards the end (thankful for my Chinese upbringing which allowed me to pick up each piece of corn with my chopsticks)
2. Fried eggplant: 4/5. Not quite what I expected but in a good way. I had expected tempura style fried eggplants but it came more in the shape and taste of the unagi in unagidon. I felt that the ginger added a really nice and fresh touch.
3. Mushroom, buckwheat, soft egg: 4.5/5. Ah the soft egg never loses its appeal. The egg comes whole and you break the egg to create the sauce. Perfect if you are not feeling particularly hungry or want something light.

Aesthetically pleasing cafe sitting in an artistic district with creative, eclectic brunch items that are surprisingly good. As soon as you walk in, the warm friendly staff and chill Sunday vibes will greet and welcome you into the spacious room filled with faded botanical lush. Menu included jambalaya, gumbo, miso ramen, and eggs on toast. While I really wanted to try the jambalaya, it was not available for vegetarians pescatarians. I had the coconut chowder instead and it was absolutely amazing, even though the portion was quite small. I would never have thought that “coconut” and “chowder” would go together, but the dish was at once savoury with a hint of freshness and sweetness from the coconut. Tasted a little like Thai curry, but I haven’t really had anything like it. Comes with fried potatoes and prawns. Unfortunately there were only 2-3 pieces on prawns in it, which was not enough for me to feel the gratifying satisfaction that I was looking for in Sunday brunch, which admittedly could be quite an overindulgence. The pastry items honestly looked quite average, and I didn’t go with them even though I could probably have used just a little more food.

We were walking around the Rocks, and this place happened to be on one of the lists of top restaurants in the area. To be completely honest I felt that the place was closer to a 3.5 than a 4. The ambience felt a little cold but the staff was really friendly. Their food was pretty typical Thai (slightly pricier), but the dessert we had gotten (coconut dumplings in coconut milk) was surprisingly good sweet, creamy, and salty. Would recommend if you are looking for Asian food at the Rocks.

Updated on 18/10/2018 <br/ Since my original post, I’ve also tried the Gamberi (prawn and chilli). While I enjoyed it, my favorite is still the Magic Funghi. What did they say about first loves?<br/ <br/ Original post: 29/10/2018<br/ I’ve had the Magic Funghi and the Nutella pizza here, and both are absolutely amazing. The crust is thin and soft, and the topping is flavourful. In the case of the Magic Funghi, they are really generous with the amount of mushroom they put in the pizza. To top it off, the truffle oil really enhanced the flavour of the pizza. Living a short distance away from here makes it the perfect place for us to do takeouts and enjoy the warm pizza in the comfort of our home. However, even if I was just in Bondi for a visit, I would make a point to stop by this place if I was hungry or craving for pizzas. Can’t wait to get more!

This place has the feel of a local hangout brunch spot. Their coffee is one of the better ones I’ve had, and their shakshouka is definitely worth a try if you are craving it, though it was a little too strong in flavour in my opinion. The staff was nice and the overall ambiance was very chill and also family friendly.

Despite maintaining a simple exterior that probably plays to its appeal as a local seafood shack, Doyle’s is more of a restaurant reserved for family-friendly special occasions, such as a long awaited reunion/gathering, a treat on a family vacation, or a dad congratulating his daughter on her first job after graduation. <br/ <br/ Their signature dish, the cold seafood platter, with a whole lobster, bugs, mussels, fresh prawns, house smoked salmon fresh oysters, is one of the freshest I ever had. The lobster was fleshy and the oysters were briny. Nothing compliments the fresh seafood better than a touch of lemon and the cool summer breeze with a hint of salt in the air. <br/ <br/ We also had the Doyle’s Fisherman Paella with saffron rice to balance out the cold seafood platter. It’s a lot more soupy than the traditional Spanish paella, and the strong tomato-based sauce takes a little away from the taste of the seafood, but it was very satisfying with the rice. <br/ <br/ Although it’s definitely pricey, Doyle’s have pretty generous servings. Both the seafood platter $194) and the paella $90) were for 2 but by the end of the meal all four of us could not move a single finger. We paired the meal with white wine and it was in general a great experience.

The happy hour deal here is amazing $6 for house wine or spirits, from 4 6 PM everyday. We came here for drinks after walking around Manly during the weekend and managed to get a table in the bar section with a great view of the harbour. Our server was attentive and friendly, and we really enjoyed her service. Upon her recommendation of the bar menu, we ordered the salt and pepper squid. Unfortunately we had given another server our order and he misplaced it, which ended up in quite some time before us sorting out the issue. Our server apologised profusely even though it was not her fault to begin with. The squid was really tender and tasty. It came with chilli jam and instead of overpowering the freshness of the squid, the chilli jam enhanced the flavour and added a zest to the dish. Overall very enjoyable experience and the happy hour is a must go over the weekend if you happen to be in the area.
