Weiterlesen It should be a romantic candle light dinner for two for your wedding anniversary with appropriate table reservations. But this time the Distlerhof conference hotel thwarted him thoroughly. Two male dominated, large conference groups from the trades (see vehicles! gave large areas of the restaurant the ambience of a factory canteen, in which cell phone conversations were loud at the table and one could no longer understand one's own words. The staff was understandably stressed, often inattentive, occasionally even snappy and overall overwhelmed (very commendable exception: a waitress with a slightly Slavic tongue! . The pre reserved “romantic table for two” was of course right next to the group of around 30+ men in the not very romantic winter garden. A table change was only granted upon insistence; the new table was a corner table in the cool but still quiet basement, directly under a ventilation opening through which the air flowed in. Overall, our waiter tried to be humorous, but he talked so animatedly with guests at one table that after at least two hours in the Distlerhof, we lost the desire for dessert at an advanced hour and gave the dessert menu back. The Distlerhof's high prices are reasonable if everything is right: food quality, service and ambience. But yesterday only one of these criteria fit.
