04.08.2023 - 08:31This place was fantastico!!!!! The five moles starter was out of this world. They also had stuff chicken with plantain purée. The flan was insane. Get whatever you want, but if you don’t get the mole starter, you’re a moron.

13.04.2023 - 17:10A calm and quirky coffee shop in the residential neighborhood of Xochimilco. Great place to read a book, or sip on a cup of coffee. Admire the antiquities that bejewel the entire space.

13.04.2023 - 09:41There are many coffee shops to call for your chocolate or cafeine... that is another one I enjoyed during the discovery of Oaxaca Centro.

25.01.2023 - 14:59As this restaurant gets as many good reviews, is a puzzle. first it's dirty....big table, chairs and don't even think about going in the bathroom. I doubt it was cleaned in six months. in the did the lady room was finally locked with two toilets because...both toilets were stopped. if a bathroom is neglected and dirty, I cannot help but ask about hygiene and preparation in the kitchen. second, please know that I hate to give a restaurant a bad review, but the people must be aware. I ate last week with 7 friends (we had a reservation for the big table above) and we knew it was a limited menu (our night: garnelen tacos, fish tacos, chile rellenos) and the place was known for tacos. great, we thought! cerveza, mescals and tacos! but when my end of the table got our food, I thought the kitchen stuffed to place everything on a dish. one of us had greasy fried fish, the other ok grilled fish, the garnel was served in the same greasy teig, and overall some of us could hardly eat our meal. there are many wonderful restaurants in oaxaca at all price points. don't go here.

25.01.2023 - 10:37We wandered past Tomas Inn one evening and decided to pop our head in for a drink. Almost entirely frequented by locals it felt welcome and inviting with lots of atmosphere. The decor is pretty naff but that's part of the charm. They have a...small, simple and cheap menu. The food is pretty good especially their baked potato served with melted cheese and sour cream. All the standard booze is on offer but they have a few ok mezcals that are worth a try. A Tobala for just MXN$70 which is as cheap as you'll find in Oaxaca. What sells the place for me is the atmosphere. Incredibly friendly staff and locals letting their hair down. It can be loud and rowdy but it's always friendly. We watched the rather boring Super Bowl here and they laid on a complimentary spread the likes of which I've never seen before for all the patrons. Between the loud Mexican music and the dull game itself it was an entertaining way to kill a few hours. Tomas Inn is well worth a look if walking by or in the area.
