Weiterlesen Loved this little place. I have visited 3 times and the dishes are extremely fresh using local ingredients, and ever changing. There is only one daily special and that is it! But my experience with all the food was great. For 80 pesos one gets has a lovely salad or soup starter, followed by an equally creative main course. Today featured greens with panela cheese, mini tomatoes, and cucumber in a lovely vinagraitte, while the main was a rich stew with baby claims, pork and potatoes served in a clay dish. A daily fresh drink, iced tea or other freshly made drink is included. Service is efficient and the place is frequented by locals as well as expats living nearby. A little gem run by a Mexican family.

We were thoroughly enjoying our meals, ribeye steak for me and lamb burger for my wife when a runaway vehicle that had lost its brakes crashed through the brick wall seriously injuring my wife. The owner, Erick, could not have been more caring or concerned. From visiting us with flowers at the hospital to dropping by our rented Casita to see how we were doing to offering to bring us food or help out in any way possible. He even treated us to a meal at his small cafe in the Mercado market not far from Pork Belly which by the way, was also outstanding. My wife was indeed seriously injured in this freakish accident but happily she will recover fully. One of the genuine silver linings of this has been we've gotten to know Erick at a different level and can say first hand that not only does he run a very fine restaurant but he is indeed a very fine man. The restaurant will reopen in about a week and we are genuinely looking forward to returning.
