A cold and damp night, not wanting to go far we popped across the road from the NH hotel. This restaurant always seemed to be busy so worth a try. Despite the weather we sat outside; the space heaters and umbrellas ensuring the elements didn't spoil the meal. Service was good and the menu varied, although not so much for a non meat eater, providing a good selection of local dishes. We shared Hongos de Campo to start and then had Morros de Ternera and Pimientos Rell de Bacalao as a main. A Leche Frita as postre. The food was well presented and tasty. There was nothing wrong but it wasn't anything special and, in my opinion, overpriced. I am happy to pay for a good meal but the prices here were a bit high for the quality of the food and drink. We drank the same wine in other restaurants in Extremadura for about 20% less. Despite the weather there was a nice atmosphere at the tables in the square outside the restaurant and the whole experience was enjoyable. Even the cost was not so high that one could take offence, just that there was nothing to justify the prices. Nothing hugely wrong but there are other restaurants in Caceres that I would rather go to.

At one end of main square in Benissa serving mainly coffee and pastries, ie a patisserie. Does serve other snack type food, omlettes, sandwiches etc. and stuff that can be defrosted and cooked in a microwave. Efficient, friendly staff lots of outdoor seating and a few tables inside. Coffee wasn't great, slightly bitter; maybe a slow day? Good value.

I have been to many events here of differing types and the quality of food and service is of a consistently high standard. Also, I have organised a number of events for which Carrasco has been the venue. Rosanna and her team, mainly family are excellent, they really do everything possible to ensure every event is successful and provide a level of support that is impressive to say the least, taking everything in their stride and often going above and beyond what is reasonable to expect. I would not hesitate to use Carrasco to hold any event for which the venue is suitable.

Great food just kept on coming, everything was extraterrestrial. I read the reviews on Tripadvisor and decided we had nothing to lose by taking a punt . After all, we could always leave! Sat down at the small bar outside but were soon ushered inside by Juan Carlos who asked what we wanted. A bit of cheese, a bit of ham and a drop of wine I replied; what we got was an extravaganza. Bodegas Galiana is actually a bodega and delicatessen selling upmarket products. There are a few tables in the centre of the shop where a few people can sit, surrounded by top level and rare spirits and wines (also run of the mill stuff), oils, condiments and a deli counter. A sort of mini Fortnum and Mason for Denia. What you get if you allow Juan Carlos to surprise you is a most extensive and exquisite cornucopia of ambrosia one can imagine. A selection of the products he sells in the bodega, a taste of everything. Foie Gras, Jamon Bellota, Jamon Serrano, chorizos, Spanish cheeses; all melt in the mouth. Breads, olive oils, vinegars, mozzarella, aged parmesan. A selection of tomatoes, chutneys, asparagus; on and on it went; all accompanied by a selection of wines. We had a rest every so often, try this we were urged, so we did. And then after it all just when we were fit to burst there were the desserts. Oh dear me, that man is the devil declared my mother-in-law as she tried the last of the four deserts delivered unto us with a cheeky little local orange liquer, Coffee was accompanied by a vintage Rum. During the whole tasting, for that is what it was, we were asked at each stage if we wanted to try X, or are we OK eating Y; wine was by the glass and we were offered a taste of each one before the full (generous) measure was poured for those who wanted it. In between feeding us and serving customers Juan Carlos sat with us and we discussed wines we knew and loved (a lot of which he had in the bodega), whiskies, armagnacs, gin and the various botanical mixes; the relative merits of Fevertree tonic and of course the food we were being served. Gin is my wife 's department, and when she asked which contained a particular mix of ingredients Juan Carlos looked thoughtful, disappeared, reappearing with the stuff itself as a taster for her. Outgoing, eccentric, enthusiastic, informed, generous, dashing and (I am informed) quite dishy ; Juan Carlos is amazing and such a nice chap. I must admit that there was a stage at some point during the meal that I began to fear that the snack we had dropped in to have had become a feast that was going to require a second mortgage and that it may be time to call it a day and withdraw gracefully, but then it was so outstanding an experience we were enjoying so much that I just did not care and decided to go with the flow. When the bill did finally find it 's way to us, I was astounded, could not really believe it. €70.00 for the three of us. I know that may seem a bit steep for some cold cuts, a bit of cheese, etc. etc. But I must say that in the grand scheme of things what fantastic value we had. Both of my companions were equally as surprised at the cost, we were all expecting it to be significantly higher, and I must say I would have been happy paying a lot more. The entire experience was excellent, quite one of the best and most enjoyable I have had. Cannot really describe how wonderful a time we had, best you go and see for yourself.

Trying to avoid fried food and tuna, this place was great. Serving well prepared and thoughtful dishes, many majoring on vegetables, the creativity and imagination was obvious. Great food, cheerful service and at reasonable prices. Especially enjoyed the pumpkin ravioli which was an absolute delight. Would be happy to eat here again.

Great service and wonderful food from this place in the restaurant section of the market. Very good menu offering a great variety of sushi, sashimi, salads and all manner of tasty offerings. We just stopped for a snack so had only sashimi ventresca, wakame salad and California uramaki; all of which tasted great and was well presented. If you like this type of food you will not be disappointed. I would certainly not hesitate to return. Prices were reasonable and portions although not generous, were certainly not insufficient.

Really small bar which is normally full with locals, full being half a dozen, but plenty of seating outside. Local dishes cooked very well and very sensibly priced, Wonderful place to stop for a drink and tapas or a full meal, Cheerful serving staff deliver efficient service.

With our first two choices of restaurant being fully booked and having been here at the end of last year and had a wonderful experience, we decided to revisit. Now I understand why the other places were fully booked and this place had tables in abundance. At a time when so many restaurants are trying to re-establish themselves after being closed due to Covid-19 one would have thought that an effort would be made to endear their establishment to clients rather than alienate them. Obviously Restaurante Portitxol does not subscribe to that particular marketing strategy. The quality of the food is still very good indeed but the portion sizes have reduced considerably and the prices increased. The ratio of price to value is now not impressive at all, in fact some may say it is unreasonable. If the proprietors see a need to make up for lost ground and recover fixed costs incurred whilst income was zero, possibly hitting the pockets and the stomachs of the clients who do dine there is not the best plan. There are now seven people who live locally who will neither return nor recommend. The service was sporadic, disinterested and inefficient; one of us had his meal delivered incorrctly twice and when the correct dish arrived it was not as described and the rest of us had finished eating. To add insult to injury they charged us for the dish he did not have, not the dish that eventually arrived; a difference of €8.00 in their favour. It is a real shame that we had such a bad experience which it seems was due to the frugality of the ownership, as our previous visit had been so wonderful in every respect. Whereas at our last visit the wine list provided sensible and varied offerings, on this occasion having asked for a bottle each of house white and red we were presented with options that cost €17 and €18 respectively; hardly house wine prices and actually didn 't represent good value. All in all not a good experience and having ended my previous review of this restaurant by saying I would return, having returned, my opinion now is that there are too many other, better and less exploitative restaurants in Javea worthy of custom. Finally a warning. The prices on the menu that appear on the website of this restaurant are lower, in some cases significantly so, than those they actually charge now. Maybe the management may read this and redress the situation but at the moment this is the case.

What a wonderful experience. The food was very good and the service very efficient indeed. I would have no difficulty whatsoever in revisiting this restaurant; and in the near future. The menu offers a range of traditional dishes prepared and presented in a non-traditional style with heaps of creativity on display. Everything we had was wonderful in it's way and whilst the selection of croquetas was a brilliant concept that did not deliver what we felt it should have it was not bad, although I would not have it again. However, the gorgonzola croquetas were truly out of this world and the octopus was absolutely perfect. The rest of the dishes we shared were all impressive as were the dessserts. The portions although not overly generous were more than adequate and represented good value. The wine list has a very good range of wines in terms of price and quality. The decor is modern and minimalist and be warned that the paucity of soft furnishings combined with the high ceilings means that once a few Spanish get into their stride, and the restaurant was full of Spanish diners, somewhat of a cacophony is generated, however this all adds to the wonderful atmosphere created by the industrious and efficient staff and the tremendous food. Attached to the restaurant is a bar which has a seperate entrance which is decorated in a more opulent manner, providing a bit of an antithesis to the restaurant. If you are looking for an interesting new restaurant in Javea Old Town this is well worth a visit.

Had dinner here when staying at the hotel, a very enjoyable meal. Service was charming and efficient, well above average. The dining room was interesting in itself, rustic and obviously a converted farm building. We chose from the set menu which offered local regional dishes and enjoyed every mouthful. When asking for an alternative to the potato side dish, which my wife enjoyed, I was given a risotto that in itself was quite exceptional. Fresh local ingredients used imaginatively and skilfully provided a wonderful meal at a reasonable cost. Local wines on the list were all well priced and those we chose did not disappoint. Would strongly recommend this restaurant for lunch or dinner.
