Weiterlesen We stopped by Sinatra town with a tour company. We only had one hour or so to have lunch. We do not speak Portuguese or Spanish at all. So we just walk around to find something to eat. We find this restaurant up the hill with no tourists. We went in and ask if they serve lunch. We were the only two customers there which make us feel comfortable to ask questions. Luck for us, the waiter is very friendly, attentive and speak some English. The food was very good. But the waiter is unbelievalbly nice. He took time to explain all of the cheese and ham in the appetizers. Also explain how the delicious shrimp was cooked. He also told us to check out the fishmen's of Portugal on YouTube to learn cod fishing history. We really had a good time. Finally, he let us try some Porto wine with the desserts. By the time we leave, more people came in and he got busy. Thank you for the great dinning experience. Food is very important, but attentive, warm and friendly service left us with great memory.

The bartender sat us down with a cold sparkling rose and chatted with us about our travel plans. (We ultimately ended up visiting his hometown of Peniche later that week! When the restaurant was ready, we were seated and given some good tips on the menu. We ordered a bunch of small plates and a bottle of wine. Our waiter was utterly charming and patient. Everything was DELICIOUS! The decor was clever and fun (I love that they project movies in the bathroom . I think our bill came to something like $60. A bargain we were stuffed! Casa de Pasto was one of our favorite restaurants on our trip!

The portion sizes were generous but such good quality and a very reasonable price. The food was absolutely gorgeous, our only regret is we didn’t come back for a second meal!
