My partner had a schnitzel with asparagus, but unfortunately, it wasn 't very good; the hollandaise sauce already had a skin on it. I had baked vegetables with baked potatoes and salad. Unfortunately, the food was just sadly mediocre. And then there was the comment: Oh, well, the last one 's gone, it sounds delicious to eat the last leftovers. The cigarette machine didn 't work; the staff were annoyed that I tried to help them again. My dog didn 't get ANYTHING TO DRINK, let alone asked for one.

Weiterlesen Im Rahmen der Angebote “Hamburger Schlemmer Sommer” besuchten wir das Restaurant MELDELSSOHN´S im NewLivingHome, weil das angebotene Menü ganz unseren Vorstellungen entsprach. Anschluß an das öffentl. Verkehrsnetz sowie kostenfreie Parkplätze bzw. ein Parkhaus waren in unmittelbarer Nähe. Vor dem Restaurant befand sich ein großer, ansprechender Außenbereich, der trotz der unmittelbaren Lage an der stark befahrenen Straße durch eine hohe Hecke einladend und ruhig war. Uns wurde ein nett eingedeckter Tisch in einer Ecke des Restaurants zugewiesen. Und dann folgte erst einmal NICHTS. Nach langer Wartezeit – allerdings mit netter Entschuldigung – wurde uns eine Auswahl an Brot, Öl und Meersalz serviert und die Getränkebestellung aufgenommen. Inzwischen füllte sich das Restaurant, und uns wurde bewußt, dass das Teil eines Hotels mit angeschlossener Seniorenresidenz war. Entsprechend waren alle Gäste 70+. Sicher ein lobenswertes Konzept, dennoch: ob ich – selbst eine Seniorin bei Kenntnis dieses Umstandes das Restaurant für ein Dinner gewählt hätte, vermag ich nicht zu beantworten. Zwischenzeitlich stieg der Geräuschpegel wegen einer Veranstaltung im zum Restaurant hin offenen Foyer sehr an. Insgesamt gesehen entsprach das Menü nicht unseren Erwartungen und war durchaus ausbaufähig, was nicht nur an den langen Wartezeiten zwischen den Gängen lag und auch durch den überaus freundlichen und engagierten Service nicht aufgefangen werden konnte. Lediglich das SORBET CASSIS, das Dessert und die abschl. Käseplatte konnte uns überzeugen. Aufgrund unserer Beurteilung vor Ort wurde uns ein Kaffee und ein Degistif nach Wunsch angeboten. Wir trösteten uns, dass wir von einem mehrgängigen Menü zum Preis von 32,00 € Pers. wohl nicht mehr erwarten durften. Auch die Preise für die Getränke 0,2 ltr. Chardonnay 5,60 € Gl. Prosecco 3,90 € doppelter Espresso 4,40 € 0,25 ltr. Wasser 2,80 € lagen im Durchschnitt.

The quality of the beef shoulder wasn't great, and the sauces weren't exactly amazing. The ambiance, however, was very nice, and the service was generally very friendly, even if everything, including the 40-minute wait for the bill, seemed to take forever. In summary, a good restaurant for a convivial evening where the food isn't the main focus. If you value high-quality food, you'll find better restaurants in Munich, especially in this price range.
