Weiterlesen This delightful place is slightly tucked away in Birr and well worth the visit. We got a great welcome from Joe and excellent table service from Alice. Beautifully styled with a cosy outdoor space was matched equally by good food and value for money. We were informed by another cafe owner that we were missing out by not choosing their place to eat but having frequented Birr on numerous occasions, Nutmeg Cafe was definitely superior. Megan and her staff are the essence of hospitality and good Irish food. I'll be back

The confit potato accompanying the steak was undercooked, and the red wine jus was a bit too weak. The coconut dessert was balanced in terms of sweetness and acidity, and the biscuit crumps added a nice crunchy touch. The cheese platter was very good. The prices are a bit too high for the quality of the food.

The service was good and everyone was efficient but I didn't feel hurried.
