Restaurant bewertenBeen here about 5 times, food is very consistent and good, but the order is always slightly messed up. For example, yesterday, we never got the ginger ale we ordered or the coke refill or the correct coffee and 2 out of the 4 desserts were wrong. There is one waiter serving everyone so it was hard to get his attention.
Old school restaurant has a great atmosphere. I had the Barada with tomatoes and pepper and the pork medallions.
Took my wife, mother and aunt here for Mother 's Day. Arrived 15 minutes early and was greeted by the fella holding the bottle in the picture who impolitely announced we were early. Based on the way the rest of the evening went I have to assume he was the owner and knew he was unprepared for business. This same individual spent the better part of five minutes welcoming the family behind us (family or regulars) and voicing his complaints about a large group that was in the adjoining room. This same family was served ahead of us despite arriving after us and having a larger group). The wait was excessive and our waiter was rarely seen (presumably because he was the only one we saw. I had to ask for updates on food, drinks and the bill and frankly could not wait to get out of the place. The food was good but it was far outweighed by the poor service. I understand that this place has a long and impressive history but I could not help but it was not evident tonight. I understand that not everyone has an A game every day but when this happens, it would be nice to have a manager or owner acknowledge as such.
We have gone to Berta's many times, and it is always great. They have the best wine list I have ever seen and Peter, the owner, can write a book about each bottle. Berta's is always a good time.
Charming secluded chateau with friendly staff and delicious food.
