Restaurant bewertenGood Restorant, but they don't speak a single word english, german or spanish...
Midweek lunch, from the menu at 20 Euros was exceptionally good. There are another couple of fixed price menus and then the à la carte. An Italian salad starter followed by the fish main course of a duo of salmon and cod with mashed potato...was more than enough, with a strawberry and mint dessert. Wines are a bit expensive but a good selection and local. A good walk along the river after lunch was also enjoyed.
We were near vertou and our hotel recommended this and we are forever grateful. this friendly restaurant is located on the shore of the river with magnificent views over the water. the menu was simply with a focus on fresh local products and the limited but balanced choice meant that there was a focus on quality. we ordered the house as an appetizer with salat nikoise. the terrine was breathtaking, fresh and really tasteful. my partner had the Salat-Nicoise, which was equally impressive, instead of a melange of ingredients that were beautifully presented and each ingredient had a distinctive taste. we followed this with the prawn brochette and the lamb shelves that were both impressive. we ordered an excellent glass wee and also some water. what makes this place, was the quality, service, presentation, but above all the excellent quality. at 90 euro this was a 5-star menu plus. we will be coming back
The l’ecluse is located right in front of the chaussée des moines and offers a great view and a very tasty eating. the prices are moderate and the staff is very friendly. a very good and popular choice in vertou!
We visited L'ecluse this evening and had a main course and glass of wine each. Total cost €43 approx. Not our first visit - we visited last year also. We left very satisfied. My wife had brochette of lamb with potatoes, veg etc while I had duck in orange sauce. Both dishes were exquisite. Perfectly cooked and presented. Friendly staff. Lovely location facing on to the river.Menu items are priced on the high side but not too bad. The prices asked for the local Mucadet wines (one at €27) and indeed other Loire Valley wines are, however, way over the top. 'Rip off' would be a kind description. Do yourself a favour and spend your hard earned €27 on 6 bottles of very nice Muscadet in one of the fine vineyards around Vertue.
