Restaurant bewertenSituated at one of the viewpoints above Sete, this little place does nice food in the shade for a good price. Burgers, steaks, salad and carpaccio all really good, with the accompanying chips excellent Service is friendly, and atmosphere vibrant
This is a lovely little restaurant at the top of St Clair overlooking Sete. Get there on foot to work up a healthy appetite. We booked a table for 7.30pm which is essential as this is a very popular place with locals. There were lots of French families and small children running around. The setting is idyllic. The food is simple and fairly cheap. Meat and prawns on skewers, chips, salad and ratatouille. Order a carafe of wine. Don't expect anything fancy. You have to take this restaurant as it is and enjoy it. A highlight of our holiday!
We got a bit lost at the top of the big hill in Sète today. It was the middle of the day, the sun was relentlessly hot and there was virtually no shade. Despairing that we would have to walk all the way back down to the town to get some food and drink, imagine how we felt when we came upon this oasis... Greeted with warm smiles and ice cold water, we sat in the shade and recovered, ordering cold beers, a chèvre chaud salad a tuna steak. Our friendly waitress was happy to substitute chips for whatever was originally on the menu, and the drinks and food arrived swiftly. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent, too. I doubt we’ll ever feel as grateful for a meal ever again! Thanks, Le Safari!
It was a dark and stormy night well a windy one anyway and so the sauces already on the table had a dusty covering. The kebabs were small and gristly, and difficult to identify as the meat we had ordered. We booked good time to tell us they are cash only? no, better to wait till you sit down and the truth dawns but there is no cash machine for literally miles around! No draught beer and chilled red wine though bizarrely, no chilled rose and no white wine no wine list, just do you want it or not. No glasses for the beer, in fact no beer at all till we reminded them. Didn't stay for dessert. One of our party very ill all night after eating here. Not a shining example of a great French dining experience.
A varied choice of skewers, excellent fries...What to enjoy before going to admire the panorama of the "white sandstones"Recommended booking!
