Restaurant bewertenWe didn't have high expectations for this restaurant, but while staying in Roberval for 3 nights, our dining options were limited. The lack of greeting at reception should have been a red flag, but we were hungry and it was late. It took a while for a server to take our order, but they were friendly when they finally did. There was some confusion with our order, and the service was slow. The wine was expensive and just okay. Our water was not refilled until halfway through the meal, which was a first for us in Quebec. The food was okay, but not great and definitely not Greek as advertised. Overall, it was the worst meal of our holiday and we wouldn't recommend it. We regret not going to one of the other restaurants in town instead.
This restaurant offers a classic Canadian Greek food menu that mainly consists of seafood and various grilled meats. The food was decent, we ordered the Corfu plate which included chicken, salmon, shrimp, langoustine, rice, potatoes, and salad. The chicken was very good, the crab was okay but lacked salt, the shrimp was good, and the langoustine was overcooked. Overall, we felt that the food could have used more seasoning. The service was good but a bit slow, and the dining room can be quite noisy when busy. If you're looking for authentic Greek food and flavors, you may be disappointed. I hope this helps.
The proprietor, who also does the cooking, is not Greek: and it shows. The first disappointment was the taramasalata made from mashed potatoes! Ugh! Unbelievably terrible. Then we wondered where was the hummus, the stuffed vine leaves, the moussaka none of which appeared on the menu. Almost the best thing we ate was the baklava for desert which the waitress told us was not made in the restaurant but was bought in! The locals rate this place highly, which reflects their ignorance of genuine Greek cuisine.
We found this restaurant by chance as we were staying in Chambord for the night and everything was closed during the off season and we didn't want to eat poutine. Due to the very mixed reviews we were a bit apprehensive. For a Tuesday evening the restaurant was almost full, which we didn't expect. The waitress was extremely friendly and lovely to chat with, even though she was very busy. We ordered ceasar salad as an appetizer and lasagna and pasta frutti di mare as entrees. The portions are large and everything tasted very good. I would even say this was one of the best lasagnas I have ever eaten in a restaurant and compared to frutti di mare plates in Europe this one contained 4 times the amount of sea food. Their wine recommendations were good and we very much enjoyed our dinner here.
Really nice place to eat and soak up the atmosphere. very friendly staff! Food was ok, nice steaks!
