The Shoestring - Placerville

American food. Burgers, Hotdogs, Chili fries and shakes. It doesn't look like much outside. They wouldn't expect it, but to say I love this place is an understatement. The food is always hot, fresh and never fat. The chili is AMAZING. Real chili has no beans in it. And if you like milkshakes... Oh, man, do you do that well? FYI, there is no bathroom for guests.

This restaurant eminates the true essence of America. The western deluxe BLT was an amazing sandwich, the mozzarella sticks were perfectly crispy, and the drinks were amazing. I would recommend coming here.

I had a hambuger, onion rings, and a chocolate peanut butter shake. The stars are for the shake which was top notch delicious. The hamburger was alright but nothing to write home about, and the onion rings I would not get again.

Every time I go to Tahoe, a stop at Shoestrings is mandatory. The only thing I've ordered here in the last 5 years is the chili cheese mouth menu. An above-average dog and a decent price for the meal. I spoke to some of the employees and they say that the owners are connected to the people who lead Pinks in LA. I was there too and there are some similarities to hit pinks (in comparison). Good shrub.
