Restaurant bewertenNice addition to town, Caribbean and authentic Southern Bar-B-Q in one place. Small Menu that focuses on a good selection of each. Have had a couple meals here now and have had overall good experiences. The smoke chicken shepherds pie is awesome. The Brunswick stew is also excellent. We have tried a number of the Caribbean meals as well and they have all been very good. Deserts in this establishment are always excellent, the owner also operates the local coffee house downstairs and is known for her homemade cinnamon buns. She has five or six deserts on the menu we tried that are wonderful and rare in our location of Pa. Her Coca Cola cake is so good as well the Tres Leche cake. As someone who has tried food in the southern US and in the Caribbean this place stacks up with anywhere else and is very-authentic. Prices are reasonable and service has been good even as they train brand new restaurant staff. BYOB
Great new addition to our little town. We both had great meals. I had the meatloaf which was stuffed with pork, for sides I did Mac and cheese and collard greens and chose the corn bread. He had the 2 meat platter with pulled pork and brisket, sides were corn and mashed potatoes and he chose the corn bread. All the food was delicious! We got Tres Leche cake to go for dessert which looks amazing and I'm sure will taste just as good.
This is a new place to eat in our little town. Sure there are things to grow on.... But the food was good, the staff was pleasant and I am going back. It is a byob and that is fine. All of us locals should give it a try and hope that it is successful so many be more options will open up in our little Berg! So go, it is just fine.
This is a new establishment and it certainly got off to a great start. Carol and I decided to check it out today. We arrived early and were able to be seated immediately. The staff are pleasant and very helpful. The dining room is at the top of a fairly high staircase, after we made the climb I ask and was told there is some seating on the street level. Definitely checking that next time. We started out with a deviled egg Cheesy Corn-Okra Fritters with Ranch dipping sauce, it was delicious. Carol ordered the Boliche Cubano chorizo stuffed beef loin and it was good, a couple pieces were a little dry but excellent flavor. Definitely a satisfying serving. It's served with side of rice, black beans and garlic toast. I had the Lechon Asado which is pulled pork marinated in mojo sauce and slow roasted, served over rice with black bean side and garlic toast. Very good meal, great staff and nice facility. The prices seemed reasonable and since there is no other place to get these food choices real hard to argue with them. We will be back. I do recommend reservations as they get busy it may get hard to get a table with out.
