Van's Pig Stand - Norman

On the way to dallas and we were hungry for bbq. we ordered Brisket dinner and Rib dinner. my brisket was old and dry, not trimmed and hard burned chest on the outside. I gave it for fresh, it wasn't much better, not trimmed and still burned crust on it. the buzzing and kartoffel salad were ok, but not the best. not band so good, hard burned crust on her too, cole Slav was very poor. we spent $28 for a very bad meal. we are not going back. I guess it was one of the worst bbq placed I ate and I eat bbq 2 times a week.

Decent eating, but w a y overpriced. a good BBQ hack would really appear here in norman. vans is okay, but nothing spectacular.

I am looking forward to trying van’s since my son started with u, and maybe I overhyped it in anticipation. the meat was good, but nothing spectacular and the collards were just ok. they were above average, but all in all I had hoped for more. the setting is exactly what you would expect and I will try to see if I have another result. I had ribbed and brisket on this visit and the ribbed were tender and came out of the bone clean, but only ok when spicing. the brisket was a bit dry, although good for a sandwich or with something to add some moistur. I know there can be a lot of variance in bbq, so I'll visit vans and see if I think differently.

Please let me begin by admitting that I am a BBQ snob. I grew up eating van’s and am used to it. it used to be my favorite, but by years or try a lot of big smoked meat, I can land on saying that I really like it. their ribs are delicious, their chopped bark meat and pork are pretty good, and their smoked wing is quite dang delicious. I would definitely recommend. if they can treat the heat, their really spicy sauce has a great taste for a sauce with a lot of kick.

Went through the drive thru and was greeted by a lady staring at me, I finally said hi just to make sure she was ready for my order. Drive thru didn't have a menu posted and when I asked for one she said they were out. Every question I asked (since I was trying to figure out what to order without a menu) she acted like I was seriously bothering her. Finally ordered a turkey sandwich which ended up being almost $7 just for the bread and meat. Very disappointing experience. I will not be back.
