Restaurant bewertenThere was little choice tonight as if you arrive in this area out of season ie. end september there can be no choice of where to eat on certain nights! we thought that we would try a creperie as there was everywhere else was closed on wednesday night. truly terrible restaurant, we arrived and ordered a bottle of local cider, so far so good. having been given the menu we were told that no salads were available, why not? this is country full of markets packed with lovely fresh local produce but when you go to a restaurant there are hardly any vegetables or salads on offer. this restaurant has a menu which is almost half various choices of salad, therefore half the choices were unavailable. the waiter said that they could not buy any as the shops did not have any, what utter rubbish, there are supermarkets all around this area full of salad ingredients. what he meant was that they could not be bothered to go any buy any as this is low season! that just about sums up france if you decide to go on holiday outside the normal french holiday dates ie. july and august. we ordered galettes, i suspect that these were not made by the owner who was more interested in going outside for a fag! these galletes were mostly likely 'bought in ' and the toppings were added. a truly dreadful experienc, do not waste your noney on this place!
Although it appears to be a creperie it has some very good fish dishes. We were attracted to te moule frites because they were locally farmed. Locals were into the fruits de mer and other fish dishes. Nice location adjacent to good beaches and the Pointe de Merquel. For those interested in bird watching adjacent lakes had nesting terns , avocets, herons and egrets.
Had a very nice meal here. My wife ate a galette with blue auvergne cheese.ham and walnuts. I had the seafood salad. These were followed by caramel crepe and a time and raisin ice cream with proper white Rhum. Delicious. All washed down with a good local dry cider. Service and the ambience were excellent. Recommended.
