Restaurant bewertenFirst of all we booked the accommodation on booking for three people after calling them and asking a few questions. The description on booking is not matching their facilities. They only have one proper bathroom in one room so this rooms are not suitable to book with more than two people even though they are offering it for 3 and more.It is also written that there is more than one bathroom but that's not accurate. They have a bathroom en suite for one room and then there are two toilets downstairs for the other room. But just toilets, nothing else. You have to be comfortable with no toilet seat and using the tabo, no flush which also applies for the bathroom en-suite. There is no running water at all. There is no shower as described on booking. You have to fetch your water for showering, toilet and everything else from a big bucket in front of the room. Those big buckets should be refilled by the owners but they were not. We were three people using the shower and bathroom and in the end of our stay there was no water anymore to do so. Poor service. Which is a good description for the whole stay.Othter amenities as written on booking are not to find either. There is no bar or restaurant. There is no water kettle. There is no private beach. The rooms are not well maintained. In the room without the bathroom there is no mirror. There is no place to put clothes. It is definitely not worth the money. This wouldn't be all that worse if there would be a nicer service. The owners are a couple which obviously felt disturbed us booking their rooms in low season. The toilets downstairs were not even cleaned when we arrived. They did not explain anything about the property in the beginning. They charged us way too much for pick up with the boat and wanted to talk us into island hopping which is also way to expensive. Then they canceled our drop off in Matnog for stupid reasons and the woman behaved like an insulted child. We were really shocked as we didn't expected it to turn out this bad. The woman was talking to my fiance who is filipino as well in a rude tone which was totally inappropriate. We drank a beer on the first evening which was not available at the resort so the woman bought it at the sari-sari-store nearby and charged us double the price and also charged us extra for ice. Same with the coffee. It's 3-in-1 coffee in sachets and costs 7 pesos at the store, we were charged 105 pesos for 3 coffees. I've been traveling to a lot of places in the Philippines in the last 10 months and I've never experienced such unfriendly rudeness. We talked to other locals about it and they were shocked as well and said it's ruining the tourism in Matnog. Which is true, because we would never come back to book here again.Sadly because Calintaan Island is a gem and the surrounding are as well. Use local contacts if you wanna come here and ask at the tourist authority in Matnog for accommodation. Don't book online especially in low season.
Last time we stayed there 1 week.We enjoyed time there. Nice location and sunset view. Good WiFi. Island and beach hopping available. Mike makes good cocktails like my Version of Pina Colada.Jolly Cook fantastic. When i think about the jummy Food i want Be there asap.Only the Food is a little bit expensive, but jummy. See youagain
Nice place close to the sea, with wonderful sunsets, and Wolly is a good cook. If you accept very basic amenities :Small room with no running water, no heater, no fridge, no aircon, no TV. It's so hot that I couldn't sleep before 2am, and the noisy boats start at 5am. Shower and toilet with a bucket. At the end we had to pay more than 10 000 pesos additional to the price of the room, for meals for 2 persons (3 nights) and boat for one and half day. At the end it's more expensive than a resort, so better to compare and negociate if you plan to come here.
Great cooking by host Yollie! Masiramun! The rooms have great vantage point, facing the sea and as the name suggests, sunset. Loved the place. Magayon! And even though her husband,Mike, was still a bit sick, he took the extra effort of setting up our table dinner by the seaside.
Really accommodating and very friendly. Arranged for a boat to pick us up, drop us off and island hop with a trip to the beach. The place was so nice and well kept. Very peaceful and beautiful views.I can't say enough good things about the food here. Delicious meals and more than enough to eat and drink. They are in the process of adding an infinity pool, I hope to come back when it's complete. No Air Conditioning makes it a bit hot for me, but they provided a large powerful fan.
