Restaurant bewertenTheir food is goodQuality ingredientsThe cocktails were delicious! Each one that my wife and I have tried has been unique.
In short: establishment run by staff who lack integrity, food isn't good.
I have gone to the Kingfisher restaurant for several years. I visit annually from Ottawa and enjoy checking out the different establishments. I visited with my brother, it was a beautiful evening on the water, but sadly a huge barge was parked in from so no river view (not Kingfisher's fault). The service was good, no problems. I ordered the Meatloaf which was quite good. The featured potatoes were not so good, the mashed portion was ok but the other unknown chunks were hard and uneatable. This is an expensive restaurant! If they want to charge what they do then the ENTIRE experience MUST be exceptional. It was not. I hope this will be corrected for the locals
Although the place is nice enough, the prices were much too expensive for the food. I guess they can overcharge because of the view, but we didn't really even have one and we reserved in advance. There are so many other great places in the area to choose from so we won't be back.
Went here today, we ordered wings (half hot, half salt and pepper), the appetizer tacos (halibut), seafood linguine and ceasar salad. We also ordered a ceasar and a virgin margarita. The wings were breaded, so when they arrived to the table, the breading was kind of soft. The blue cheese dressing was very mayonnaise-y too. The spice on the hot wings was great! Would be so much better if they just used regular wings without the messy breading! The appy fish tacos were small (2/8)$, they were okay. The halibut was cooked nicely but the produce served with the tacos was wilted with black spots.Hubby's linguine was really good. Lots of fresh seafood and a decent sized portion. The ceasar salad was very disappointing. Again, the dressing was very mayonnaise-y and didn't have a lot of flavour to it. I picked a lot of black/spotted pieces of lettuce out of the dish too, which was pretty disappointing. It was covered in grated Parmesan too, which tasted pretty processed. The croutons were the best part! You could tell they were homemade. I feel the salad could be improved if the dressing was made in-house and they used real, shaved parm. Drinks were good and the patio was beautiful!
