Restaurant bewertenWe came here to celebrate my man's 60th birthday. We traveled to Lancaster specifically to dine at this restaurant. We stayed at Fidden Farm, which is just a 25-minute walk down the road. The restaurant is in a beautiful location and we were greeted around 7pm and taken to our table. It was a lovely surprise to find a gift and a card for my man's birthday, as I had completely forgotten when I made the reservation back in July. The atmosphere was beautiful, with background music playing. We were attended to by a lovely lady and a gentleman in a kilt. The food was amazing, as were the drinks. We both had gin and did not try the wine, but it sounded interesting with various local ingredients. The 5 courses we had were all delicious. We ended the meal with a cheeseboard and coffee. This restaurant is small and only takes reservations for groups and special occasions, so I may not be able to return. I highly recommend dining here for a special occasion. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
We had a fantastic experience at this restaurant, which is undoubtedly the best on the Ross of Mull. We opted for the four-course lunch menu, which offers no choice but the locally sourced fish and game did not disappoint. The service was excellent and we enjoyed a lovely lunch meal.
We were delighted to discover this cozy restaurant and secure a table during our recent trip to Mull. Wow! This was a truly special dining experience. Each of the four courses was exceptional, making it difficult to pick a favorite. The photos only capture the beauty of the dishes, but they don't do justice to the amazing flavors packed into each bite or the high quality of the ingredients and preparation. John and Carla have created something truly magical here, and it was a treat to have the chef himself serving us. This is a fine dining experience without any hint of pretension. A true gem!
One of the best restaurants I have been to on the Isle of Mull, and definitely the best. It was a delightful taste adventure; a truly exciting experience. The standout dishes were the fish dishes. The lobster paired with lobster was heavenly, and the salmon crêpe flower left us speechless. Even the cocktails were extraordinary, especially the homemade banana marshmallow one, which was unlike anything I have ever tasted before. To top it off, the sticky toffee pudding and parfait were heavenly. Everything from start to finish was truly magical. Thank you Carla and team.
If you have the chance, definitely go and have lunch at Carla Lamont's charming small restaurant. The fish dishes are based on what John catches, and Carla uses local produce and foraged ingredients, as well as drawing inspiration from her travels. The service is absolutely superb, with a rating of 5 for both food and service, as well as for the atmosphere.
