Restaurant bewertenToday, we stopped by the Saracens Head in Daventry for a few drinks. The place has undergone some renovations since our last visit, and the decor and overall atmosphere have definitely improved. However, I did encounter some issues with the staff. During my two visits to the bar, I was met with a lackadaisical and indifferent attitude, particularly from the large girl with pink and black hair. This kind of attitude is off-putting, but I am willing to give this place another chance.
Regular visitor here, a nice pub for a meal. Several rooms throughout the venue including a mezzanine floor. It’s a nice historic old building. It’s a Wetherspoons so it is what it is… fancy some modestly priced pub grub and drinks it’s just the job.
Comfortable, spacious, historic, interesting. One of the better Wetherspoons. No problems. Good food. Good beer. Good value. Be very happy to have breakfast here again.
Bank holiday Sunday...no whiskey, no cocktails. My friend order cheesy chips....where is the cheese we said? More we would like...£1.50 for a sprinkle of cheese. This. Is. Outrageous.
Having read the previous comments I might easily have been put off but as I was in Daventry anyway today I gave it a try and I was I was satisfied. OK many of the meals on the menu were not available but to as they were not long out of Lockdown it is probably going to take them a while to get up to full steam. We were served by a waitress called Megan. She was very pleasant and efficient. As all of the customers were obviously spread out at tables in the garden we were amazed with the amount of walking she had to do backwards and forwards. She still managed to be professional about it in looking after the customers. Another lady came out to when the wind blew over one of the sunshades and she was quite pleasant to. I think they are trying hard at that Wetherspoons.
