The Shack - Covington

Don't let the ramshackle building fool you....this is serious food. Seriously GREAT food. Inventive and DELICIOUS! I haven't had a mediocre dish yet. I highly recommend their crab cakes (available on Fridays), fish tacos, pork tower (pulled pork tostada) and one of the best burgers you will ever have!!

I don't review a lot nor would I normally give a 5 star, but this one is worth it. Lump crabcake special with porkbelly and shrimp was amazing, as was slaw and salad. Great hospitality and worth the drive. They also catered an event for 15 and the food was perfectly cooked, which is amazing when doing shrimp and chicken over sterno!

We ordered two of their Thursday night specials, mahi mahi with polenta and grilled shrimp with green rice. They were both amazing! The fish was so tender and juicy and my first time eating polenta, wow, I'm ready for more. The Shrimp and rice was perfection, cleaned the plate. We be returning for more great food and dining again.

Love the food!! Atmosphere can be a little chaotic on weekends when sitting outside, but the food is totally worth it!!

Perfect date night place with the wifey. The crab cakes are the best in the New Orleans area, easily. The front room is perfect for a date night with your wife or you can go to the Shackyard with the kidlets. They can play while you eat! We've been there at least 15 times and have always had good service and outstanding food.
