Whiskey River Ames

Whiskey River: Plenty of bomb shots. I wish they offered Vicks Formula 44! We only tried the appetizers: the gluten-free crinkle-cut sweet potato fries were delicious with a generous portion size and thick cuts. I have never experienced any issues with cross contamination from the fryer. There are many menus, so make sure to check them out before going in. We were able to snag a high top table next to the open-air side.

I tried the Philly cheesesteak and let me say, this is a true Philly cheesesteak! The bread was both moist and crispy, the meat was seasoned perfectly and cooked just right. The peppers and onions were cooked well and added a delicious texture. The melted cheese blended fantastically with everything, creating a gooey and delicious sandwich. If you're craving a Philly cheesesteak, this is the spot to go! The atmosphere on my first visit was great, and all of the staff were friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be coming back here often.

I always enjoy visiting Whiskey River when I'm in Ames. The service and atmosphere are fantastic.
