14.04.2023 - 04:46I visited Country Kitchen on Sunday for a late breakfast with my family and I am happy to say that the place was so good. They had the Dine In option while many restaurants did not. But they kept very well on the Covid protocol and did not hold too many diners at once what was a good thing. Our server was Mrs Joan, who was very polite and extremely friendly. The service was fast and the food was so delicious. I would recommend Country Kitchen to everyone and I would definitely visit again if I were in Barrie.

12.01.2023 - 16:53I have read the previous different reviews, but still booked, as I wanted to book online before visiting st malo. but we really enjoyed this old style gentile French restaurant experience. in contrast to what others have said, the service was impeccable wine...and regularly covert, table of crumbs between curses, etc. Some people like the service to think slowly, but that was the traditional ability to make every cure. two hours for 4 courses was exactly right for such a meal. the eating was nice, and the cheese course was amazing a table with a display of cheese and the quality was excellent. an unforgettable meal.

14.05.2022 - 10:00Brittany ferries day time trip from St Malo to Portsmouth. We decided to sit down, relax and have lunch at this a la carte restaurant with the kids. We chose to have the buffet for starter and dessert and then chose a main course to...be prepared fresh. The kids could have the same with a half portion of the main course or chicken nuggets etc. The buffet of starters was fantastic with a massive choice from poached salmon, smoked salmon, cooked meats, langoustines, scallops, stuffed tomatoes etc. The kids loved to choose their favourites. Main courses included chicken and asparagus in cream sauce, sea bass and spicy lamb. The kids chose the sea bass and the wild mushroom risotto which to an untrained eye looked like full portions! The dessert buffet and cheese board was yet another feast with about 10 desserts to choose from with fruit coulis as well. Cost wise, amazingly the kids' meals were £5.20 each including a drink and a surprise parcel with game, sweets, drink and fridge magnet. Adults' meals were £25.90 which was still good value. Service was good with plenty of staff and the buffet being replenished constantly. Overall a nice relaxed atmosphere with kids encouraged to enjoy the food.

20.11.2017 - 14:47The Jam Jar seems to specialize in what I think of as comfort foods. The menu doesn't try for chic and fancy, just good food at very fair prices.Ingredients are sourced locally where possible and it shows in the fresh quality.Decor is rustic but interesting. There's always something new to discover hidden on a shelf or on a wall.Service is excellent, it's family run with pride and care.Deserts are a feast for both the eye and the palate, the presentation is great.Whenever I'm in the area, a stop at the Jam Jar is a must.
