Weiterlesen Decided to treat ourselves to a cake and a coffee, after waiting a little while for a menu we were ‘greeted’ by surliness and attitude by our waitress. We ordered a coffee, tea and a mille-feuille. The pastry arrived with a smile from a different server, looked divine but sadly one taste told me the pastry was over-cooked leaving a slightly burnt after-taste, for 6 euros we expected better. Unfortunately things went from bad to worse, the tea arrived without milk, not uncommon in France usually we ask in advance but on this occasion we forgot. Not a bother we called over the waitress(short blond pixie cut hair- avoid her at all cost ! and asked for some cold milk. She disappeared, eventually reappearing to take someone else’s order, no milk. I politely asked again for the milk, ‘j’arrivee’ was the curt response, it didn’t. By this time I had drunk my coffee and my husband’s tea was going cold. Miss surly pants appeared again and stood by the door, still no milk. I politely asked again for the milk, scowling she flounced off, returned without milk, the cafe was not particularly busy. After having to ask for a third time, the milk was slammed on to our table, it was hot, the tea by now was not. I have no idea what the waitress’ problem is but she should not be working in hospitality. It was a thoroughly unpleasant experience, definitely not one to be repeated

Weiterlesen This small Italian restaurant is hidden near the Sheraton and appears to serve primarily locals. It has a pizza oven and turns out delicious pizzas. We had the burrata appetizer which was incredibly creamy, fresh and partnered with similarly fresh tomatoes. Our pizza was likewise delicious. The manager, simon, fit us in at the bar and was a welcome companion during the meal when he had time between his many other responsibilities. The bar tender was a pleasure to be seated near and we watched as he created amazing cocktails.

Dined in at TJ Thai tonight and was really impressed. Service was great; food was delicious and authentic and servings plentiful. Will definitely be back! Sadly we made a special trip from Calgary to revisit this diner as a previous 3 years ago was exceptional. We were one of 2 guests dining in, waited for menus a... Weiterlesen Sadly we made a special trip from Calgary to revisit this diner as a previous 3 years ago was exceptional. We were one of 2 guests dining in, waited for menus and was told Summer would be with us shortly, after a lengthy wait, whilst no one appeared to be busy I approached the counter said I would like a slice of the only cake in display this cake had already been cut with about 3/4 remaining) would double check what my husband wanted no mention was made of offering table service. Returned to counter, 2 minutes later waited behind a walk in customer only to see that the remainder of the cake had been sold to her!!! So after lengthy drive, no customer service we decided to leave and go next door where customer service was exceptional and great quality coffees cake.

Weiterlesen Michael's on Main is a pub like feel with family friendly service (family ownes and runs it) and huge portions of excellent food. We enjoyed the house made fish and chips that was lightly battered and the beef sandwich. All the entrays include soup and salad bar. The soups are house made and if you have a chance have the thai soup (excellent). To finish you must try the sticky toffee pudding....wow...roll me out of the restaurant but so worth it! Reservations aren't always necessary but you may want to call ahead on weekends, just to make sure you aren't disappointed. Enjoy!
