Weiterlesen I organised a farewell work lunch at La Bora based solely on Tripadvisor reviews and wasn't disappointed. The food was excellent. Very tasty and good hearty portions. We had 12 people and everyone was impressed. Vincenzo the owner was lovely providing great personalised service. He even threw in a free dessert and lemonchello shot for our staff member who was leaving. Would definitely go back again.

The room was freezing, we did not take off our coats throughout the duration of the meal, the staff were quick to accommodate however, and provided us with portable heaters by the side of the table. The starters were average. We ordered the pumpkin and sweet potato starter which was meant to come with a Katsu sauce. The sauce wasn't given, and we had to request it. 5 minutes later we had a runny and half cold katsu sauce delivered to the table. Safe to say this wasn't eaten. Usually I wouldn't be so picky, but we were the only customers in there and it seemed more of a lazy decision than a mistake. The duck spring roll was okay. The mains were delicious, the Salmon teriyaki was delightful and was the only thing that has stopped me giving this restaurant a far poorer rating. The music was good, the wine was good and I think with a few tweaks it could be a great spot. Investing in some heating, better staff knowledge and providing what's described on the menu and they'd be on to a winner.

We were not told at the time of booking and there is no mention of this on the website. Burgers were ok however do not go if you want a choice from a menu.

After we were seated, a young man brought us water for the table, we ordered 3. drinks and a small plate and they were absolutely amazing and came out in a timely manner. Next we ordered our main courses and I have to say it was DELICIOUS!!! They then got what seemed like the whole staff to sing ‘happy birthday’ it was soo cute!! 10/10 would recommend and I can’t wait to come back!

They told me I should book on their own website in future, but that she would make the reservation over the phone for me now. By the time my delegates arrived, the booking still had not been confirmed and there was no table under my name like they were expecting. This was a business meeting so it was not professional at all.

Once up to the carvery we were very disappointed. the person cutting the meat was very inadequate finding it difficult to cut and serve and giving us a very small portion. The vegetables looked nice but when eating were far too hard and cold. However the dessert was very nice. We will not be attending again.
