Weiterlesen I came across Bistro de Elliano by chance and It really was a lucky find. The decor is simple yet stylish and really does give that authentic french feel. The food is exactly the same: I started with the Onion and goats cheese tart, where the goats cheese and caramelised onions were complimented perfectly by the home made puff pastry. My wife started with the twice baked lobster soufflé, which by all reports was creamy, lite and very Moorish. Next up was the Rib eye steak on a bed of potato with truffle jus for me and the Duck confit for the Mrs. The steak was cooked perfectly, juicy and medium rare with a slightly crispy outside and the potatoes were superb. It is possibly the best steak i've found in the shire so far. I can report personally that the duck was also excellent, as i worked hard to pinch as much of it off the wife's plate as possible (i'm a sucker for both duck and parsnips). By desert we were both stuffed, but that didn't stop me from ordering desert (we shared the Pots De Cream) as i couldnt resist. On top of the food, staff were also friendly and attentive. making us feel very welcome and well looked after. My only complaint was that we had the place all to ourselves, as this is now one of my favourite places to eat and i would be really upset if it went away because it didnt get the attention and patronage it deserves. I have already been back twice since then.
