Weiterlesen Visited this place whilst staying at the Travelodge on a business trip. Warm welcome from the landlord (and his 2 lovely labradors) and a friendly clientele with whom I was soon chatting away about the football etc. Didn't eat but the beer was great and what's more they had Powers whisky, a rarity in pubs in the UK. If I'm ever in the area again I'll be sure to visit.

The bread and butter pudding was inedible, although one portion was taken off the bill. Coffee Luke warm. However, staff were very pleasant, and their signature gravy was as good as ever. A bit upsetting, as we meet with old friends who have moved away, and an ideal midway venue for a catch-up.

We have visited a few times now and since the Tapas menu has been introduced we have not been disappointed. The food is good and reasonably priced and the service is very friendly. Even when the bar is busy the staff go out of their way to serve you at your table and are always very helpful. This is another one of those finds in Colchester that deserves to be really busy and popular. Try it, you won’t be sorry.

We weren’t impressed with the pizzas and they forgot my kids’ spaghetti, which after an almost two hour wait with SkipThsDishes left it too late to fix the order. My five year old son was very sad as he wasn’t in a pizza mood. I’ll definitely order elsewhere next time. I did get reimbursed for the mess up by STD
