Weiterlesen Recently I was returning from Bendigo after a business trip and was desperate for a coffee... many places just are not open later in the afternoon for coffee, but the Axedale Tavern was! After moving to this part of the state a couple of years ago I have had driven past this tavern on many occasions, but it always looked run down. In recent times, whatever had ailed it to cause the upgrades has been completed and now it looks quite inviting. Axedale sits on the side of the river and it's a very pretty small town, but there is a reason to stop here! This tavern not only has a pub area, but they have an area that they have made into a cafe type area and it's all really quite charming. It offers both inside and outside seating and carparking is to the back of the business and you can walk through. Customer service was outstanding. The only thing letting it down is the cost... the large takeaway coffee was more than $8... which is the highest I have paid for coffee ever.

We had chicken chips and Veggie Parma both with one side of Vegien. Delicious food, although the Veggie Parma probably had a little more pumpkin, but still was great. We'd come back another time.

Weiterlesen Due to issues with deliveries the menu was limited to two burgers. I would have preferred to have been notified beforehand, so I could have rebooked, as I was there to check out the new menu. The burgers were absolutely delicious, juicy and well made, and we didn't have to wait long at all. I was actually surprised how quick they came out. Staff were very attentive, being seated at the booth it was really comfortable and the atmosphere was great with a fantastic view. We had several cocktails, and they were really delicious, I really liked the Malibu Stacey, the Vice Miami and the bubblegum. Disappointingly we didn't think there was much alcohol in the actual drinks, as none of us felt any buzz and we drank 4 each, except our desi who had the mid strength beer which he said was good. Next time I'd stick to the drinks they make in front of you. I like what they are going for and I am willing to try it again with a full menu and a drink off the shelf.
