The new owner, Su, has taken this business on, now known as Hungry Hogs at Hillside Cafe. Yes, there is a connection with motorcycles in the name and the fact that Su used to run the food outlet at the Uppingham Harley dealership.

I've been visiting Hungry Hogs (although I ride a Triumph, you are always welcome) for some time, including winter when most of the Harley's are packed away in their climate controlled garages! There is always a smile and a good welcome from the ladies and as much chat as you want! Prices are really good coffee £1 for example. The food looks good. There is limited parking on the dealerships forecourt, but I haven't had problems parking up. After your Hungry Hogs visit, you can go and drool over the expensive metal in Sycamores HD. There is a loo, it's in the showroom. All in all, nice clean trailer, reasonably priced, good local roads, great stop. Will continue to visit.

Popular csfe, particularly with locals and motorcyclists, breakfasts seem to be their stock in trade, though there's plenty other choice. Parking on site, toilet available, quick service and friendly waitresses. Unusual building with plenty of history.

Lovely situation for this little cafe, beside the lock and attracting walkers, cyclists, etc. Sadly, though, it is not open every day and you should check first (usually weekends and bank holidays). The usual fare, plus light lunches and tea, coffee and other hot and cold drinks. There 's tables and seating in the garden beside the towpath. I don 't think there 's any indoor seating. Pleasant views, pleasant service, reasonably priced refreshments. Will return.

Fairly typical transport cafe menu, reasonably priced and prompt service. Cafe can get full of truckers and a queue. Haven't personally eaten there, but have been in many times as a pre-rideout meeting point. Toilets, limited car parking, plenty of room for motorcycles!

You don't need to be into Triumph motorcycles, or any motorcycles, to enjoy Cafe Racer. Clearly, the cafe is aimed at those visiting Pidcock Triumph and why not? Looking at motorcycles and eating is a major pastime for many bikers you only have to look at their girths!! Seriously though, Helen has a menu to satisfy most. Her bacon baps, cooked to order and cooked how you like (just ask), are very tasty. Paninnis are freshly prepared and tasty. Salad is fresh every day and prepared in house. There's also jacket potatoes and a range of sandwiches, etc. Helen takes care to present your meal properly, after all, you eat with your eyes, too! Hot drinks are complimentary another good reason to stop! And after filling your belly, well, there's all Triumphs new and used bikes to look at, be tempted, what could be better?
