14.11.2023 - 13:30Located just south of 44nd street on 9th Avenue the place is long narrow with a sushi bar in one corner at the back. There were tables on either side of the restaurant it seemed popular. The decor is dark atmospheric, while the menu featured a selection of all one would expect from a sushi place. While pricey, at least for us, the portions were large, the service attentive the food good.

08.10.2023 - 16:30I was craving some dim sum for dinner, but because there isn't a lot of dim sum close to us we decided to try Regal Garden, an old-school Chinese restaurant. Located just west of Euclid Street on the south side of Bloor Street in amongst a lot of Korean restaurants we had walked by the place but never really noticed it, probably because it is open only from 3-9:30pm. However, on one of our walks I noticed they advertised dim sum, so I decided to check out their menu online. While it looked like they only carried six basic dim sum items I was curious about some of their other dishes, especially their shrimp dumplings in chilli sauce, so we decided to walk over to ask about their dishes. While they are still only doing takeout, they had all their tables and chairs stacked against one of the walls, you order from a counter that sits just at the back of the shop in front of the kitchen. While we ordering a lot of take out and delivery orders were also being filled which made us think the food might be better than expected. While I wanted the shrimp dumplings in chilli sauce, they were mixed with pork, so instead I opted for an order of har gow, an order of their fried shrimp and my friend had their black bean beef and broccoli. The portion sizes were good for the price that was paid and the food was again what one would expect from an old-school Chinese-Canadian restaurant, good and satisfying that old-school craving.
