An excellent food menu and superb wine list. The ambience is a bit sterile and by comparison to other similarity ranked restaurants it was a bit pricey. Overlooking those it was an outstanding meal with a staff that is cordial and knowledgeable

My wife and I were looking forward to spending our anniversary dinner here. We had been recommended this restaurant by a friend whose judgment we trust, with the warning that this restaurant is sometimes a little 'off ', but when it is good, it is real...good. Let 's hope we caught the restaurant on a day off. The menu is rigid and does not allow for a lot of adjustment: we tried to explain in our best French to our very soft spoken waiter that one of us only eats fish and no meat, and I think he initially offered preparing the same fish twice for two of the four courses as a substitute for the meat option. In a high end restaurant, I am used to more originality and possibilities of variation in this department (I wasn 't dying to eat the same fish twice), so I asked if it was perhaps also possible to have something else, and what the options were. Our waiter went to the chef and came back with the defensive message that we just had to trust the chef. Trusting the chef, apparently, meant being served the simplest pasta one could possibly thing of: cacio e pepe, cheese and pepper. Although I do like this dish, I expected it to be especially good and perhaps have some sort of twist in such an expensive and high end restaurant. None of this turned out to be the case, and the pasta was even slightly undercooked. Did I offend the chef with my questions? I couldn 't help but feeling like the pasta move carried a message. It 's possible I imagined this, and the rest of the dishes were fine really nothing special, surprising, or especially delicate however. I 've eaten at plenty of high end restaurants, and this was simply not outstanding. over, the wine pairing was 8 euro a glass, and while the wines were fine, they were nothing special, and I find that pricing quite steep especially in this city. All of this left us both puzzled as to what makes this restaurant 'stand out ' so much. It certainly wasn 't the service. The place is very small, and the staff keep walking tentatively towards tables, and kind of 'wander around ' in that small space. It made both of us very nervous. Not one plate or cup was put down on our table without a kind of bodily hesitation that made us feel very awkward. Both were very soft spoken and very serious no smiles, no real warmth, no welcoming feeling. Our thoughts: if you are going for the serious style service, then at least do it with confidence. I don 't know how else to put it, but the whole atmosphere just felt very masculine and 'repressed. ' The chef seemed to be really into himself, but 'trusting him ' turned out to be disappointing. By the end of it, we were truly happy to leave. We really wanted to love this, but the whole experience left us a bit puzzled by our anniversary dinner choice. We certainly won 't come back.

We opted for Au Diner 125 euros. Hard to understand the staff when they explain the dish in English, so you are just left guessing what you are eating. This undersold the dishes in itself. No choice of wine by glass, therefore hard to pair...with all the different dishes offered. Overall, not impressed and was expecting much, much more interesting, distinctive flavours and combinations for a Michelin (and for the price) We mentioned that we had to leave at a certain time, but staff did not seem to care and took their time with the bill, payment and coats.

We had a table for four on a Thursday evening and everyone ordered the Menu dégustation and it was outstanding. The menu changes monthly, we happened to be there in November 2017 and enjoyed seven tasting plates with matched wines. This included two optional dishes,...a palate cleansing rosemary sorbet with Chartreuse poured over (in a glass globe) and a brie corquette with mesclun salad. Every other dishes ranged from walnut and pear ravioli with creamy sunchoke soup to scallops tartare to lamb loin chop. Each dish was small, served in a beautiful unique way and accompanied by a different wine (this was also extra and well worth it). One of the members of our party had a fish allergy and they swapped out an additional meat dish for hear and matched it with a unique wine. The service was delightful, our waiter (Theirry I believe) was outstanding, multilingual and completely charming. Don't go here if you are in a hurry or want something traditional, come here if you want to spend 3 hours enjoying a culinary adventure. I will be back!
