If you have not experienced the beef cheek and tongue appetizer you have missed a truly great taste sensation. The cheeks are buttery soft and the rich sauce complements the texture and taste of the tongue. Also the house hummus is a favorite of ours. The price of both the food items and the wine is good. This is a restaurant you should try. The location is conveniently located on the St Clair streetcar line.

When my son studied in 2014, we were sad, not able to visit this diner. When my younger son decided to go to RIT, we were excited to return to Mt. Hope. Best service, best food and we love the atmosphere. A sense of home. Once there was a line out of the door, and we were grateful for waiting and asked if someone wanted a coffee. Love, love, love this place. I wish we were closer.

Das Menü ist kurz, aber ausreichend, die Getränke billig und der Kaffee sehr gut! Ein freundlicher Service rundet das Ganze ab. Nur der Weg zu den Toiletten ist etwas weit und führt einen in die tiefste Einbuchtung des Gebäudes.

Great variety on the menu. I took my three grandchildren to Toronto as a final gift and The Real Jerk was tops on one of their lists. My grandchild, who is 16 years old, has tipped our waiter (Jamaican with braid and big teeth) $20 he took from the $100, he had to spend for the three days in Toronto. I was touched by his generosity. Our waiter was wonderful and took time to chat and fun with us. This was one of our most unforgettable times we spent in Toronto. Loved the atmosphere and although the food was hotter than the children were used, they loved it and the experience we all had. I will tell this story many times. Thank you.
