Sorry to say for me, that it 's not worth the hype and the trip out to Astoria.I ordered two drinks- Rose Peach Tea with grass jelly and their signature Taro Root with boba. The rose peach to was good and refreshing. The peach flavor was more prominent but has a slight floral flavor. The taro root boba was fresh, was a little thicker consistency and I ordered 50% sweetness which was perfect. Boba was good texture too. However, for what they charge I probably won 't be coming back. Their medium looks barely like a small, and a huge size difference between a large. I know establishments do this to get customers to just get the large but to me this is dishonest and can 't stand when places do this. It 's deceptive. If you look at the photos attached you 'll see how tiny their medium is.I also ordered the pork bbq banh mi and their supreme. The bread was good and crispy, fillings were seasoned good, but their was barely any pork. I 've had better banh mi around nyc without them being cheap on the meat inside. The supreme had a better ratio of meat to the rest.Besides that, it was a long wait to receive my order, and their was no line or anyone in front of me, no apology or anything for the wait.

I just wish the bread was a bit sturdier. The sauce made the bread incredibly soggy.

I especially liked the hamachi. I wasn't a fan of the masubi, and felt the spam was very hard and overcooked.

Their salsa verde bursts with flavor. Since they are still new, we have vowed to come here every Tuesday until their food quality decreases, they start charging for extra limes, and they start ordering those cheap carryout napkins instead of these blessed ones that are big enough you don't need 2 (I don't think I've ever eaten tacos and not needed several napkins...until today). More about the food, the machete (sandwich) was flavorful and hot. Cheese was gooey and steak was tender and grilled well. Well done thy good and faithful servants. Hip hip hoorah. Please go there asap!

Weiterlesen We found The Well Cafe about a month ago, and it quickly turned into our place that we visit every weekend. As someone with Celiac 's it is wonderful to be able to go somewhere and know that 1 I am in safe hands and 2 the food will be good. (They do a Belgian waffle on the weekends, and I have come to crave the fruit compote they have to go with the waffle, although their Bright Bowl is also fantastic. I 'm sure the rest of the food is also good, but I haven 't gotten around to trying it yet. Beyond that, everyone we have met who works here is kind, informative, helpful, and friendly. Five stars, and more if I could give them.
