Weiterlesen Excellent battered haddock and chips. The fish was beautifully cooked and absolutely fresh. The chips were homemade and very tasty. The portion of fish was very large 2 whole fillets. It was almost too much fish. It would nice if they would offer the option of a small (one fish fillet) or large (two fillets). I think this could cut down in food waste and also make eating there more affordable for families. Nonetheless, we were very satisfied with our visit.

My wife and myself visited here with friends who live locally. We did not have anything to eat. Just a few drinks. However, I think the place deserves mention.... It is a charming pub with a very pleasant staff owner’s son and a very warm and welcoming local clientele. We very much enjoyed our three evenings here and recommend it to anybody looking for a decent Irish pub.

I’ve never understood the rave reviews it generally gets. Today’s experience however has been grim. I went for a simple dessert and coffee with my wife. The coffees were very weak and bland. The cheesecake had no particular flavour and was very “tough” in texture (far too much gelatine? , the macaroons were sickly sweet, very dry and simply not enjoyable. The single slice of cheesecake cost €5.00 on its own. I consider it very expensive and not worth it. I cannot say that I will never return but I certainly won’t be in a rush to get there.

It is a true “little gem”. Menu del Dia” has a very good variety of choices. All the food is authentically Spanish. I love it. A four course lunch (with wine beer water your choice is €14. Weiterlesen This place advertises a “menu del dia” (a fixed price lunch menu option) as one enters the premises. I went there with my wife a few days back. We were obviously tourists. We asked for the menú del dia and were refused it. We pointed out that it was clearly promoted on the premises. The woman I think seeing us to be tourists and not local refused to provide the requested menu. We got up and walked out. I cannot comment on the food as we had none but I can say that I think the place is geared up to milk every euro cent out of tourists.

It could not be cut using the cutlery provided, it could not be pulled apart by fingers. It had, literally, to be bitten apart. It was sodden, rubbery, tough, awful. Awful. The chips were undercooked. The only thing right about the meal was the accompanying glass of milk. I don’t think the premises can take any credit for the milk.

We had a main course each followed by coffee. The bill came to €32. Not over pricey. My wife had “crispy chicken salad” and loved it. I was very disappointed with my steak sandwich. I can’t recall the exact cost of it. I think about €15. The chips, salad and ciabatta were all good. The problem was with the steak. I have never come across anything like it before. It was almost perfectly oval in shape with no fat or marbling of any kind. I found myself wondering if it was a processed piece of meat or even a slice of roast that had been fried. It was not nice and I didn’t eat most of it. At the price I didn’t expect a full sirloin or the like. I also didn’t expect what I got.
