Start off with the warmed (you’ve got to love a true wood fired oven, which I hear was delivered via helicopter) Sicilian olives, nicely marinated with garlic lemons in olive oil. We had a wood fired pizza, a la Norma. Full of chomp and flavour, sided with a fresh salad with heritage tomatoes, feta and a basil pesto. The little soft delightful gnocchi swims in a creamy truffle sauce. Absolutely delightful. And a hot cup of tea and a crisp white wine. What more can you ask for? Oh, the views over north beach, superb. And the staff are friendly, attentive and service is on time. Try this one. I know you pizza lovers will thank me.

The fulfilling bento offered lovely salty salmon and fresh sashimi salmon (with a small bale of wasabi). While the ramen—the soup was slightly thin—was a wonderful slippery bowl of noodles and chunky tofu for a cool afternoon. It’s at the back, near Woolworths, and worth a visit. And the genmaicha is fragrant and relaxing.
