Weiterlesen First, let me say that I am a seasoned Mexico traveler. I've scoured the beaches from Sinaloa to Chiapas. I was in Santa Cruz, Huatulco for several days. Not a fan. The bays and beaches are beautiful but the services were not what I have...come to expect. I dined at every restaurant on the bay in Santa Cruz front including La Playa. The hawkers work the sidewalk aggressively trying to get you in. Once seated at La Playa, the service was slow and food was pricey (comparatively) and not good. The menu did not seem to reflect the abundance of quality seafood available in the area. I always question specifically the source and type of seafood on the menu. Ceviche made with Pez Vela is not for me. This review could apply to every beachfront restaurant in Santa Cruz.

The food portions were less than half of the previous visits, the meat portions were mini and the vegetables were cold, the rice was mush, and the drinks... were small sizes and not very strong. We were with two other couples and it was Valentine's Day. The on-site manager said our concerns about food and beverages are not his problem, he was not the owner.
