I recommend a visit!

Weiterlesen Christmas day in turmoil , we were doing Christmas Dinner for members of our family so full dinner prep was required, alas covid struck some members of the family. All change. None can now come to us so what do we do now. Burleydam to the rescue, phoned up couple of days before Christmas, can you fit me in ? No problem, few slots left but come along. Christmas has been saved. The place felt perfectly safe to be in, with covid restrictions. The staff were all superb from the manger who helped fit us in, to the waitress who served us, and the chef who carved the turkey .Many thanks to all for making the dinner a success after tragedy.

The staff were polite but seemed a little overwhelmed by the volume of people arriving at once. The drinks service got slower and slower until we had to remind the staff. The system worked well but broke down as the afternoon went on. We had to ask to have the table cleared at the end of our meal. Maybe we outstayed our welcome? The food on the whole was good, the overall opinion on out table was that quality would always win over quantity. The roast dinners looked gorgeous, smelled delicious but the meat was carved to thickly. Two of our desserts were left, barely touched, the fruit crumble had an uncooked topping which tasted mainly of flour. The sticky toffee pudding was not very sweet. The seasonal veg, we added a portion, was a dish of green, shredded cabbage...not at all appealing. We did mention to the staff that the desserts weren 't acceptable and were told that they had given the feedback to the kitchen and that the recipes were being reviewed. That did not help the cause. We are from out of town, had a long trip in and came only to meet with our mother who was on a trip to Malvern from Spain. I doubt we will be back.
