08.03.2024 - 08:45EXTREMELY BAD SERVICE! UNPROFESSIONAL!! We used this taquero for my sisters graduation party on Saturday (8/20). The agreement was they would arrive at 4:30 to cook the meat and be ready to serve 65 guests from 5:30 to 7:30 (2hrs). However, they arrived at 5:45, started serving at 6:18, they wanted to leave 1.5 hours into serving and they started running out of food even though only 40 guests showed up instead of the 65 that we paid for. The food was nothing special, simply edible. I would 've been better off cooking myself and saved myself a lot of money and the headache. See photos of workers on their phone with the same gloves that they were serving food, cilantro bowl empty and tilted over, and no ice in the agua fresca all this going one while they 're sitting there on their phone. They do not deliver what is advertised or what Miguel sells you over the phone. These are the details: 1. I called Miguel on Friday evening (the day before the event) to confirm they were arriving at 4:30pm to set up and cook the meat. He told me that due to the heat they would cook the meat in their commercial kitchen and therefore his two workers (Chris and Ricardo) would arrive at 5pm to set up and be ready to start serving at 5:30. I didn 't mind since he assured me the meat will be freshly cooked and they would be ready to serve at 5:30 as agreed. 2. 5:00pm on Saturday comes around and the taquero hasn 't showed up. I called Miguel at 5:06pm, he tells me the workers were catering another event in Menifee where they ran into a problem with the customer paying but that they should be arriving any minute . At this point I got concerned because I was told that the meat was going to be fresh and the guys running late because they were catering another event sounds like we were just getting their leftovers. 3. At 5:21 I called Miguel back wondering where the guys were at. At this point my guests had already started to arrive and I had no food to serve them or any sign that food was actually coming, as you can imagine I was extremely stressed out and started considering restaurants in the area that would cater last minute for 65 people. Miguel answers and adds his workers (Chris and Ricardo) to the call to get an actual arrival time, they tell me 20 minutes!!!! 4. The guys finally arrived at around 5:45 with zero sense of urgency. Many guests had arrived and it was extremely tacky to have them walk through the guests several times to get set up. I spoke to Miguel over the phone and to make up for the tardiness he offered for the guys to stay later than 2 hours from the time they started serving. 5. At 6:18 they finally started serving food, 48 minutes after the time that they were contracted. 6. We ended up having about 40 guests in lieu of the 65 which is what was paid for and an hour into serving they ran out of rice and beans, we noticed the agua fresca had no ice, cilantro ran out and the limes looked like they from a few days ago. Nothing looked nor tasted fresh. I asked for more rice and beans and their response was that they ran out because they were over serving. There was very little meat left, not enough to feed 65 people. 7. 1.5 hours into serving the guys asked me to let my guests know that they were leaving so they should go up to get more food at that moment. I called Miguel back since 1.5 hours was not the agreement, he ended up having the guys stay longer. 8. I 'm typically not one to ask for discounts and I try to be supportive of up and coming businesses but I felt that the service that I had hired them to do was not being provided. At first Miguel refused to give a discount and he finally gave in but he said that I would just be taking money from the kids meaning the workers, this was his attempt at making me feel guilty when he was clearly in the wrong by not providing the service that was being paid for.
