Weiterlesen Vom Hotelzimmer aus konnten wir das Gasthaus Freudenberg auf einem Hügel knapp außerhalb von Appenzell sehen und machten uns auf den Weg dorthin. Nach einem kurzen Spaziergang durch die Stadt folgte ein etwa fünfminütiger steiler Anstieg über eine Straße oder einen Wanderweg auf der anderen Seite – genau das Richtige, um den Appetit anzuregen! Natürlich kann man auch mit dem Auto hinfahren. Es gibt viele Plätze auf der schönen Terrasse (oder man kann im sehr gemütlichen Gastraum drinnen essen) und einen großartigen Blick über das ganze Tal. Das Essen war sehr gut – wir hatten einen großen gemischten Salat sowie Schweineschnitzel mit Pommes Frites und Gemüse, alles sorgfältig zubereitet und köstlich. Die Speisekarten sind auch auf Englisch verfügbar und unsere Bedienung sprach ausreichend Englisch. Anschließend empfiehlt sich ein schöner Spaziergang zurück durch die Stadt. Bitte beachten Sie, dass mittwochs geschlossen ist.

Weiterlesen This is one of my favorite mexican restaurants in town, and every time i dine in, i have little to no issue with the service or food. however, the food for delivery has been extremely hit or miss. several times my fajitas came with no tortillas, one time it came with the wrong tortillas, just recently my food had an extremely weird taste to it that isn’t normally there, almost like a cinnamon flavor. maybe a change of spices or something? i don’t know. i’m writing this review in hopes management will see because i really do enjoy this restaurant when the food service are at their best, but for now i think i will hold off on ordering delivery from them.

It was so startlingly beautiful that we forgot to take a picture. I hope to go back within the month and order again and get a photo. All thei desserts look delicious!

This place is cute...it is in an old big blocked stone building, and some of their tables and chairs are hand carved out of wood--it all looks like a refugio up... The pizza is pretty good too. The cookie cake as they call it is good too--it was sort of like a tiramisu. They have several TVs so if you are a soccer fan you can watch the World Cup or other sports events like that. They have an Italian-style wood-burning pizza oven inside.

Chef Julie always knows how to design an inventive and delicious menu! Tonight I had the “Crusty New Yorker” for the first time peppercorn coffee crusted strip with caper cream sauce garlic butter mashed potatoes and asparagus. IT’S AMAZING! Highly recommend it’s the perfect combination of flavors. If you haven’t been gotta check it out.
