Weiterlesen This is Ricardo 's! which got me confused as my sister-in-law led us into a restaurant clearly called Tropico. Anyway they were enthusiastically greeted by the aforementioned Ricardo who is their favourite member of staff and easy to see why. As a meat-lover I was a bit apprehensive at a predominantly seafood restaurant but I need not have worried. The massive ribeye for two is ideal for one very hungry person and the Portuguese Steak was fantastic. We came back several times over the holiday for lunch and dinner. Only downside is that like every restaurant in Alvor, the cider choice tends to be poor and Magners dominates the region.

Also the desserts were amazing. We paid for 3 chicken with chips, a salad, olives, 2 cokes and 2 cakes just 25€ which is amazing.

If you speak Portuguese or English you will be treated as royalty, but if you so much as dare to speak Spanish you will be treated as trash. This is clear from our two visits. The first time we ordered in English and it was a great experience. The food was delicious, the beers were nice and cold, and the waitress was super sweet and friendly (she even gifted us a homemade dessert! . Our second visit, however, was the complete opposite. We ordered in Spanish. Never in my life have I ever felt so offended. We arrived and a different waitress to our previous visit refused to bring us the menu, saying that the kitchen was closed. So we ordered two beers and some olives. She brought the beers over, and they were room temperature at best. It was at exactly this moment that she took the order of another table and surprise! The kitchen was somehow miraculously open again. The waitress brought a tray of five freshly made bifanas to one table at the same time that she brought the forgotten olives to us (she remembered them when we were taking the last sip of beer .
